This. Petitto played a huge part in getting Downs and McLaughlin in last year’s portal. Let’s see what he does for 2026. It will be important since we’ll have to reload at key positions.

I'd love to know what he is making.

I know the top gms are making right around a mil.

Usc paid the guy from notre dame 1 mil. He was making arpund 250k at notre dame.

Wonder how OSU let him get away. They have the money to keep him if they wanted

I’m assuming being closer to home had some weight to the decision

Yeah, I think usc had to pay 1 mil or over to get Chad Bowden from notre dame.

Crazy the money going into that part of the football program now. I think notre dame was paying him 250k and were lining up a deal to pay him 500k when he left for usc.

$1m at USC is equivalent to $550k in Baton Rouge when you consider cost of living and taxes.

43.8% higher
The cost of living in Los Angeles, CA is 43.8% higher than in Baton Rouge, LA1. In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the cost of living is 48.0% cheaper than in Los Angeles, California2. The median home cost is the biggest factor in the cost of living difference2.

Insiders this morning for OSU said the school thought it was a 1 year deal and he would go back south quickly, said it took longer than they anticipated as it's mid July

Not really. Guerrieri arguably had a bigger role in getting Downs

This is inaccurate.
$550K is 45% cheaper than $1M.
And $1M is 81.8% more expensive than $550K.
