Depends on how the offense performs. How could the answer be anything other than that?

Can we just get this contrarian douchebag banned from this board? He adds nothing but really bad takes with a smugness like he actually has some sort of knowledge.
Of course he did say OBJ wouldn’t be a good College Football player...

Played in 1g in 2016

4g in 2015

Last played a full season 2014. Most recruits were 9 & 10.

Linehan will be fine for what he is being asked to do
Als9 you don't think it will play to recruits when he can say he has been in the nfl foe the last 20 years.
Recruits know who dak is and he coached him

I would guess that most of the offensive recruits want to see how big of an impact losing Joe Brady actually is to how the offense performs. If it looks similar to last season’s, then I think we’ll get most of the guys we really want on offense.

It's a horrible hire if you take some of the idiots advice on the rant and think their opinion on the matter is worth anything...which it isn't. I prefer to take the damn national coach of the years opinion and believe he made a great hire for our program and it's future. You know, coach O, the man who built the best team of players and coaches in the history of cfb in only 3 years on the job here at LSU? Yeah, him. I take his plan and who he believes will be the best hire for our passing game coordinator...linehan. Only and idiot would value the opinion of some of these dumbass pessimistic fans we have to suffer listening to on the rant over our national title winning coach. It's a hell of a hire and he will fit into our program just fine and we will recruit our asses off just like we always do. We are LSU. I trust orgeron. Geaux tigers.

LSU has lacked elite QB development as long as I can remember. Even Burrow didn’t technically undergo most of his development at LSU.

Offensive scheme is important, but building a reputation for good QB development is even more important for the long run. That’s how you end up with top QBs every year like OU does. If Linehan can develop QBs, then this could be a really good hire.

Uh, Burrow actually got developed here at LSU and it made him a totally different qb. He will even tell you that. He was a totally different qb in every aspect once he came to LSU from Ohio St. LSU developed him immensely. That type of development will continue bc orgeron realizes the Paramount importance of doing so, unlike Les miles. I wouldn't be surprised if LSU becomes qbu within the next decade.

I honestly dont know what to expect but it seems as though he's been a loser everywhere he's been. People talk about age old or young, Joe Brady was hired based on potential and he soared, this guy here seems as though he's been a loser for decades and favors the old LSU style which would explain why Zeke had so many carries his first couple of years. While I understand that he isnt the OC, Im just curious to know what he told or showed Coach O to get the job! One can only hope that it works out because on paper this hire doesnt make sense at all!

So according to you they probably don't know Donovan McNabb, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Michael Vick, etc?

After all is said and done , and the bitching quiets down, I don't think we will run the empty backfield sets near as much as last year, & I think our offensive will be less explosive. Watching the Cowboys miserably fail ( happily) running off tackle a few dozen times a game , it makes me wonder what O has in mind . Maybe ball control , and power football. Hopefully our offense will at least somewhat resemble last years , but it's a wait & see for me.

by his logic, a QB coach/OC/HC would never be over 35-40 years old.

Having said that, the automatic WIN/LOSS regarding this hire is just crazy. Talking in absolutes shows such womanly emotion. Relax and enjoy being in a position that other programs envy.

Remember Steve Ensminger was the OC when this transformative offense satrted, is still the OC today, so I don't believe they'll allow a new PGC to get away from the system they've created going forward.

He has developed pro bowl qb’s in the NFL for many years, was a pied piper college OC and has had top 10 NFL offenses for many years as OC. I say this is a good thing with recruits.

This will be very positive to any young recruit that
gets a visit from Scott Linehan. The man has been a NFL head coach, has coached some of the best offensive players, and will have these kids mesmerized on in home visits, making them in total awe. Will be good for LSU.
