Any educated guesses?
$300k per year?
$500k per year?
$1m per year ?
Do they get a lump sum “bonus” up front?
Just exactly how much and how does it work?

Hearing Simmons got 500K to sign and 650K per year. The signing money is what turned the tide.
LSU was competitive on the yearly figure.
This won’t be sustainable for a program even with TX money. Simmons is getting more than most of their veteran players. Once that rabbit is out of the hat those guys are going to force some hands.

Wait so are you saying dude is about to get $500k as soon as he signs his name on signing day?
Wow- what in the frick!
Yeah, ok. Can’t be mad at the dude for getting $500k up front and then $650k for two more years ( if he stays a total of 3).

It’s crazy. They aren’t going to drop him a bag for 500K. He will get paid monthly until signing day. Once he signs I’m sure he will get the rest.

So what does say $250k up front and $400k a year get you on the DL front?
2 four stars ?
This is insane

Depends if you are a top 50 player or a ranked 200. The #33 ranked 4 star is going to get much more than the #200. Think of it like the NFL draft.

There’s some serious fundamental issues these types of market setting deals create.
Locker room is one of the first ones - creates a haves vs have nots, especially when it’s public knowledge and guys haven’t yet earned that money at that level.
Another is broadly how players are valued across all schools - these types of big money deals up the ante for how any and all top guys are going to want to be paid. At some point, the guys funding these NIL packages are going to make the determination that it’s not worth it.
As soon as that happens, it’s going to be a hard reality check and it’s going to force something like the conversation going on with RBs in the NFL.
Ultimately I think we end up with something close to a salary cap through revenue sharing and a unionized group of athletes. But until then, buckle up because this rollercoaster is going to be a weird ride.

NIL, for this 500k does he have a commercial for a product? 500K for future sales of jersey? 500K is being given and he hasn't done anything. How is this not just paying players. Which is not what the supreme court ruled. I am all for players getting money but this is not an even playing field and the Guvment is about the get involved and ruin this great sport we once loved.

NIL was never going to stop under the table money. When he took an unofficial to Oregon you think he took his mom, brother and grandma on his own dime? That trip probably cost 5-6K.

When I said 20 million plus a year everyone said I was nuts. We are looking a 100 million a team or about what the top teams make a year now.
We are going to have to have a salary cap

With some, it’s the family that gets into the bidding!

Texas was never gonna let him leave the state. You don’t let a kid that high profile leave. On the flip side they just put a lot of money into one kid, and we didn’t. I really wanted him, but it feels like we would have done the same for that caliber of player. IMO McKinley is not that caliber.

High school caliber player, what he does in college, as for now, no one knows. We’ ll see.

Just curious sir. How did you come by this info?

FSU recruit said and showed he was getting monies added to his account every two weeks and he's not even committed anywhere. MattBeGreat The FSU situation has went to another level... Sorry I don't know how to load... They are pulling another A$TM.

LSU is not going to break the NIL bank for one high school player with the current portal. A&M spent an unreal amount on a previous recruiting class. So far it hasn’t worked out for them. Dumping money on unproven high school players can cause other problems.

Yes, I’m sure a lot of 5 star players turn out to be great but imagine paying someone 1.8 million for sitting the bench the first two years.
