I always wondered what happened to Trey Bullinger. I played baseball with him. His dad and uncle both played in the majors for a while.

Kevin was a friend of mine. I've been to their place a couple times. Years ago though.

Has anyone ever heard of LSU offering any kid from Silliman for football? I know they had a first rounder in baseball about a decade ago but a guy I work with swears they have a few kids in football that LSU has offered that just chose to go elsewhere. I don't remember any kids from there going to a D-1 school in recent years though. It's a privileged white kids private school that I doubt is producing much talent.

Will Andrews originally went to Auburn out of High school in the 90's I believe and his dad Billy Andrews played for Denver and Cleveland in the NFL.

Darryl shafer (sp?) was another one. Jesse Simpson went to ole miss. Josh wall went 2nd rnd to the dodgers. Chris earnest southeastern. Chase Richard to ULL. We all played travel ball together. Lyle Hitt was on our team for a couple years too.

Wasn't that WR that LSU had committed early last year from Silliman? I think his name was Chucky Baker or Butler or something. He ended up decommitting or not qualifying.

I personally saw him open letters from LSU, FSU, Penn St, and Notre Dame.

I'm not discounting this particular kids talent or commenting on his recruitment at all, but I just want to point out that letters don't mean much of anything

We had a DL getting them from Notre Dame, LSU, FSU and all kind of big school and ended up not getting a single D1 offer despite having a very good senior year and ended up at northwestern state

And throughout my years of coaching watching all the letters pour in for kids that never got offers anywhere

Oak Forrest was the amite school. They were legit for a while.

Jason Brabham is a hell of a coach. He started my Sr year and we had 0 talent and we made it to the South State Championship. That was 12 years ago and I have no idea how they are doing now.

Speaking of Silliman and sports, Coach Polk passed away last week. That man did a lot for that school.

Roy Corcoran also went to Silliman. He was a pitcher at LSU

Hey, Rob, you ever heard Roy tell the story about his first outing as a pitcher at LSU? When Skip said to him "It's not your fault, Roy. It's MY fault for recruiting your sorry arse. Now get off my f'ing mound."

Good times....

Well, I can't remember if Roy or his brother Tim told the story but they told it as if Roy was the one Skip said it to. This was a few years back at a "party" in Norwood and everybody was pretty shitty so the details are a little blurry.
