Yep, Les was the king at landing top 3-5 classes due to focusing on only skill players late in his tenure.
Yeah because guys like Les would always show their incompetence on the field. So their biggest avenue for job security was to show people they can recruit.
Which to Les, just meant being in that top 5, no matter how you get there. He'd sign anybody with a 4 or 5* despite how they fit into the team or if we even needed someone at the position.
O was kinda the same way.
This is the first time in a long time we have someone being strategic about who they go after, instead of just trying to make a splash with landing "big names"

He said Texas was the leader and a flip would be the most likely route for him to end up in the class
Atkins is flipping to Texas now? I thought it would be a&m

There are 29 players on that list. Do we not have a 25 man limit?

I think he's talking about Mack

It wouldn't matter what ranking we were. If we hit on all those guys (I know we won't), it would be an amazing class to me. Would take it and run.

Mack won't be in this class.

Overall prolly a #6,#7 or #8 class...still top 10

One edge rusher still seems light even tho Colin Simmons would be massive
I’ve heard Shea and Billy mention that Cobbins is most likely an edge guy at some point in college but just needs to bulk up. Even if Colin Simmons is the only edge guy, that’s one hell of a One to get.

Did people just forget about Howard and Womack? Like, we've got some serious potential at that position.

Beyond the quality of that list what I like is the way it is spread out by position. Too many times in past regimes we would crow about our rating and often fail to notice we would sign a dozen+ 4* WR/DB/ATH and 1 LB and 1 DL and a couple of OL.

Yeah if you look at Shea's class it almost looks like a starting offense and defense.

This class would give us 287.04 points on 247, which right now would put us at #3 at best (behind Ohio State and Georgia).
We would definitely finish above Michigan and Penn State, but would still trail Alabama, Florida, and possibly Florida State.
Final class rank would likely be around #7 or #8.

Roster Management and Predicted Class Rank do not always align with one another. I have tremendous trust that Brian Kelly can read a room and appreciate whether or not a recruit has the character and motor needed towards forging a better unit with a unified focus on championships.

Two of the more interesting players are Reliford and Cryer.
Both 3 stars, but Reliford is ranked very high on On3.
Reliford could get a bump from the other services if he shows out his Sr year and if Cryer proves a solid player moving from Many to 5A ball will likely get bumped as well.
Another factor in their lower rating could also be that they were LA kids without an LSU offer. That could have been seen as a red flag by the services. Now offered they could get a closer look and bump.

Why do you think you know more than shea when shea’s job is finding out where high schools want to play football
