Kelly fricked up so bad when he was hired and replaced Raymond with a high school coach

Right but the key is Kelly corrected that mistake & the level of talent in the secondary continues to improve.

The secondary is still a huge question mark for 2025

Nah. We have a shitload of talent in the db room now and depth. We are going to be very good in the secondary. The only question is if raymond and co can get them all to play as a cohesive unit...which im pretty confident they can. We are going to be good.

Bryant wesco is next. Sucks that lsu and hankton couldn't pull him. I know he was high on their board.

Never seen a pff grade make a play on the field before. Idk where this obsession with PFF came from

Sage is a case where he wasn’t a “73” PFF grade when I watched him. Our safeties were awful last year, I think next year is an improvement especially considering the versatility in that room

A couple of people posts ridiculous nonsense like that & a bunch of other posters take off & run with it like it's gospel. Same goes for Fournette's 2016 season & him sitting out the bowl game. Fournette battled a high ankle sprain all season long. Coach O told him to sit out the bowl game that year.

Question becomes whose starting on the other side

Well, at worst it’s an All ACC CB in Delaney, so should be good against ACC receivers.

Also could be an elite talent and prior SEC starter in Jackson.

Or you have our 2nd best CB the past two years in Stamps.

Or it could be our top returnee from last years class in Woodland.

We DBU bro….

Good and he won’t sit out a year “injured” like stingley did. (Still bitter about that)
_________

You seem to want to be miserable. Injuries happen, but Stingley practiced with the team as an early enroll just like Pickett, and started his freshman year, just as predicted for Pickett. Stingley played in every game his freshman year. This would be the comparison to make at this point.

Yeah that’s the beauty of the system. It’s an arbitrary grading system that gives people something to be happy or upset about either way. Either side using it as the main reason for a player being as good or bad as he is is just silly

Using it as THE sole indicator of a player being good or not is silly in any context. It’s like ranking QBs by the old QB rating. Like it probably gives you a good general sense of things, but if you use it as a true grading scale, it falls apart instantly

PFF uses different graders who will naturally have different grades for things they see vs other graders. It’s an inherently human biased influenced grade. Which is again makes it useful as a gauge, but not as an exact measure.

On top of that There’s an incredible amount of unknown information to the graders at PFF at the college level. The pro grades are traditionally more accurate because there’s less variables, much more open discussion and openness about scheme and decision making at the NFL level vs CFBs cloak and dagger approach to that level of detail about what goes on when the team is running a play.

Every play in college drastically differs in the level of competition, scheme, quality of film and skill level that makes these ratings essentially just noise. Which is how it was referenced on this board for a long time, but in the last 2 years I’ve seen people just become PFF score humpers and act like it’s a Madden rating and we’re playing a video game

with that said, do you think cd1401 has come close to watching every snap of Mansoor Delane to have a better opinion of him vs some random PFF grader?
