I know that's the law, they just don't follow it very good.

yeh, i'm gonna have to agree.
I grew up in BR and love BR, but at the same time I've always had a great time on trips to Lafayette on nights when their wasn't shite to do in BR.
Just sayin, it's a better town to go out in than BR...
What fin?

New Orleans is in this state...m first bar was at 14...by 15 I was going 2-3 times week to several different bars.
Enacting laws and choosing to follow them are two different things...especially in LA.

I lived in Lafayette through high school, and trust me, you can get into almost any bar at 18. And once you are in the bar, if you hand them money, they'll get you whatever drink you ask for.
Though I do have to disagree with the assertion that going out in Lafayette is superior to going out in Baton Rouge. Sure, it was great living in Lafayette when I was <21, but as a Senior in college, I'm not a big fan of going out and mingling with high school seniors. That's a personal preference, obviously, and won't apply to everyone.

That's a whole lot of attitude to have developed after just eight posts.
Do you blame him?! Half of the people on this site get a high out of bitching and moaning about repeat posts. Better to cover your arse in the beginning!

We used to buy alcohol up the road at age 15; the year was 1983. The drinking age was 18. I guess it's a cultural thing.
By the way, I lived down by Houma. If I gave the community name, it'd give it away.
Okay, Bayou Blue.

Kinda got off the subject here

On the weekends a lot of us(LSU students) go to Lafayette, being able to get alcohol in a bar when you are under 21 makes Lafayette have way better nightlife than Baton Rouge.

Not a fan of Karma. I always get paranoid that the 10,000 Asian guys that are always in there are going to start a massive kung fu brawl. Of course...that'd be pretty awesome to see.
