Our history with Ohio State transfers is terrible. Hopefully, this trend changes if this is true.

Joe Burrow was a transfer from Ohio State. He turned out fine.
It’s not the school, it’s the player. Joe had a drive unlike none other…until Jayden Daniels came along. Hopefully some of these players (portal, current roster: and incoming HS recruits ) have a drive closer to those two guys and can elevate the drive of some others around them. Note, you aleady seem to have that in Whit Weeks.

Dont know the situation but money trumps everything now. If he can get a million more than he was making at Ohio State than it would be foolish to turn it down.

Far more likely we are waiting on one of the native Louisiana Safetys playing at Texas right now
My guess is Derek Williams because he's shown flashes he can be a difference maker at the college level, but we also know Raymond likes Wardell Mack and had him committed to Florida before Texas paid him.

I can't believe people are running with this rumor on here. There's zero indication this is happening. At best you have a few guys giving a very ambiguous "starting safety for a current playoff team". Several of which just got eliminated so it's possible they will portal entries soon.

Why would a starter on Ohio State who looks unbeatable right now, would transfer to LSU after the season?
For those that will answer "money", I'm sure Ohio State will match anything we offer. If not, then it probably is too much money to pay to one safety.

The only way I see this being possible is if the rumors of Knowles leaving for OU turn out to be true, but I’m not sure I buy those either, even though they are being pushed by a few reputable college football sources.
Even if he does leave, that’s no guarantee of a mass exodus.
