Can’t blame the kid for staying close to home and besides he’ll probably see playing time early at Oklahoma state rather than LSU or Oklahoma.

I’m not buying that. No true freshman unless you’re a top rated 5* should *expect* to play immediately.

I don’t think he was necessarily expecting to play immediately but seeing 2 guys rated higher at his position in his same recruiting class most likely did us no favors in the recruitment

You'd be surprised. A lot of kids going D1 think they will play right away.
Go watch Last Chance U on netflix, it's almost sad how many of those JUCO kids think they are hitting the NFL in a few years. Seriously, a ton of those kids think they will be in the league when the reality is almost none of them ever get there.
