Old guard doesn't want change. It has worked too well for them.

Also scared of those deep pockets at A$M.

Time to just have a minor league and start a second, amateur only college league.

Very hypocritical and stupid of them to say. Bag men have to stay employed too I guess.

I don’t think they are wrong about the way the NIL stuff is being handled. But I found the part about transfers amusing.
quote:

Saban said he understands that most of the transfer portal activity is based on playing time.

"But when you have 85 guys on scholarship, everybody can't start," he said.

No shite, Sherlock. That’s the entire point.

Saban and Smart don't care about the game or the "kids."

They care about their jobs, their money, their donors, and their legacy. If anything they say doesn't reek of self serving BS, it is happenstance!

Not just A&M. Texas, Oregon, USC, and several others could outspend Bama and Georgia twice over and not even blink an eye. Hell even UCLA with all the big businesses in the area could potentially be a threat if the right coach could convince 30 or 40 of them to buy in. Even Arkansas could if they could get Walmart and Tyson to shovel out some money, not to mention Jerry Jones.

Saban complaining about this is just comical

He must have realized someone else is encroaching upon his thought of dominating. Tells me he wants to coach for another 30 years.

We already have the "haves and have nots" and the old way was way better for the guys like Saban who have put together the best network imaginable. Smart learned from Saban and they both have it down.

They do not want anyone else having an opportunity to get in on their gang.

It’s almost like all the jerkoffs who wanted this system gave it no forethought in terms what it would really mean for most programs.

Now everyone wants to bitch about it

They are upset that the NCAA has legalized what they have been doing for years and it threatens their domination of the SEC.........
