Better comparison would be between Scott and Perriloux

My God.

The best comparison would be Paul Turner from WM.

Wrong. The quality in Texas is overrated because of all of the money in the schools and kids being exposed at an earlier age. The top teams in Louisiana are just as good as the top teams in Texas. Texas has a ton more schools though. More good ones, but also more bad ones.

Completely disagree. I grew up in Lousiana idolizing La high school football. From haynesville to west Monroe and John Curtis I thought there was no comparison but after living in Texas for past 19 years and watching in person the highest levels of Texas football it is just played on s higher level. I watched both the Lousiana state championships and Texas championships and as much as I hate to say it Texas would have no problem beating out best.

The comparison between Perriloux and Scott is simply from a statics standpoint. They had very similar stats their Sr years.

I grew up watching West Monroe and other LA big boys. Now live in DFW, have watched some of the best teams here. TX HS football is on a different level.

Rueben Randle (Bastrop) & John Diarse (Neville) both were outstanding HS QBs but they were never told they'd play QB at LSU.

Very good comparison.
Horrible comparison.

Scott had more pass attempts in his senior year than Turner had in his junior AND senior years at WM.
Scott had 255 pass attempts in his senior year.
Turner had 107 pass attempts in his senior year and 134 pass attempts in his junior year.

Scott had almost as many rushing yards in his senior year as Turner had in his junior AND senior years at WM.
Scott had 1,963 rushing yards in his senior year.
Turner had 974 rushing yards in his senior year and 1,062 rushing yards in his junior year.

Scott had about 2.5 times as many passing yards as Turner had during their senior years.

Horrible comparison.

Sorry, but you're wrong.

Perrilloux is actually a pretty good comparison.

Lindsey Scott Jr. HS Senior Year
rushed 220 for 1,963 yards (8.9 YPC) and 28 touchdowns
completed 163 of 255 (63.92%) for 3,040 yards (11.92 YPA), 33 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions
QB Rating of 202.85

Ryan Perrilloux HS Senior Year
rushed 226 for 1,460 yards (6.5 YPC) and 37 touchdowns
completed 225 of 342 (65.79%) for 3,546 yards (10.37 YPA), 30 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions
QB Rating of 181.83

Perilloux is a solid comparison and they ran similar offenses.

Do you know how many LSU players played qb in high school? Probably a lot more than you know of: Skyler Green, Joe Addai, Kendell Beckwith, Laron Landry, Jai Eugene, Jared Mitchell, Early Doucet, Spencer Ware, Darrell Williams, Stevan Ridley....it's amazing how many. That's off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are plenty more. It's more of a trend in Louisiana because they run power and option offenses. Texas kids run spread passing systems and that's why you see a ton of qbs coming from Texas.

Yes, you did.

Then LaBornNRaised laughed at YOUR Perrilloux comparison, and said Turner was the best comparison.

So I told LaBornNRaised that he was wrong, and that Perrilloux is actually a pretty good comparison.

In short, I agreed with you.

Wow, 0 for 3 in that quote.

Shepard was focusing on QB until halfway through the 2009 regular season. Just after the Florida game, Shepard was able to talk Miles into transitioning Shepard to WR. It didn't become official until spring practice 2010.

Man, I love your conviction but get your facts straight if you are going to correct me. His freshman season he had 45 rushing attempts and 5 receptions. He practiced with the running backs. He was a running back. He did not focus as a QB and he was never recruited as such by LSU. He started working with the receivers his sophomore year but still had as many touches and yards running the ball as he did catching the ball...His Junior and Senior year he didn't do much. He had horrible hands and did not make a strong play on the ball. He looks better now actually.
