Emery
Kiner
Goodwin
Bradford
Cain

That's a full RB room with some good talent. We are fine at RB. If Citizen wasn't from Louisiana we wouldn't have pushed hard for him I don't think just because we have pressing needs elsewhere.

If emery can actually play, we’ve got plenty at running back. It would’ve been nice to add a freshman, but Kiner and Goodwin will both be here for at least 2 more years. We’ll be fine. Probably add a real stud next class.

We are fine at running back we didn't need Citizen and there are at least 2 better than him in La for next year.

Cain is a lumbering north south power back with little agility, but consistently strong and moving forward. He's ok. Good depth.

The room is full right now anyways plus there’s 2 solid in state running backs in the 2023 class.

What happened to the two studs from Texas the RB and WR they were both fall backs and underrated but man they looks good to me when I saw highlights. I think they were both two stars but they looked like grown arse men and had time of scholarships not like you normally see from a 2 star.

Camar Wheaton is in the portal. Was a five star RB last year who signed with Bama. If we feel we need another RB we could go after him.

We needed experience and got it with Cain. The only reason they went after Citizen was because he was the top in-state back and was a former commit. We don’t need another back in this class unless guys leave in spring. We have much bigger needs.

I don’t follow a ton of players on social media but I have been following Emery and he has seemed very focused lately and looks like he has every intention of being on the field next season at LSU. I had been concerned that he lost focus after what he went through last season, but he looks DRIVEN now. It makes me wonder if knowing he’s back didn’t play a role in Citizen going elsewhere.

Noah Cain was one of the top RBs in the country coming out. He's shown flashes but he's been dinged up. At Penn State he was more of the bruiser type back in a RBBC. With a better O line I think he'll do fine at LSU if pressed into action. Ideally he's a depth guy at this point.

Will Perkins play RB? Looking at his film, he’s the best RB on the team

And Williams. Just because he came in as a walk-on doesn’t mean he should be completely dismissed. He played over Goodwin and Kiner this year. He’s not great, but he’s pretty good, and maybe more importantly, dependable.

It’s decent talent with some nice players, but it’s more quantity over quality at this point. Unless someone makes a huge jump.

If we run a very pass-happy offense, yeah. But we’re not good enough at RB or TE to run a typical Brian Kelly offense. I do trust that he’ll be more than willing to adjust to personnel. I think the QB coach they got from Tech that was their OC is an indication of that.

I hope he wins the Heisman next year, but it will be his 4th year, and I just can’t imagine anybody expecting anything out of him at all. Hoping, sure. But I think you’ve got to expect zero, and if he gives you anything, it’s lagniappe.

Have you been paying attention? There’s no guarantee either of them will be here in the fall, much less both. The only 2 I’m almost positive will be are Bradford and Cain because they’ve both used their free 1-time transfer. The rest can leave and be immediately eligible.

I don’t mean this to be be negative doom and gloom, it’s just the world we live in now. There we’re rumors Goodwin wasn’t happy last year. If he and Kiner find themselves behind Emery, Cain, and maybe even Bradford (as a pass-catcher out of the backfield), they are throwing the deuces.

My guess at how RB depth chart plays out
1 Emery
2 Cain
3 Kiner
4 Goodwin
5 Bradford
6 Williams

I’d like to see Goodwin or Bradford at Kickoff return. Gives them an opportunity to atleast see the field consistently in that role and they both have home run speed. Wouldn’t be surprised if Goodwin ended up in the 2 deep at RB either he was injured most of this past year and wasn’t ever really able to show what he can do.
