The "LSU drop" proves once more to be real. Shelton Sampson fell from a 5* (#24) to a 4* (#50). Jalen Brown fell 20 spots as well. Rickie Collins dow 67.

Makes sense. I guess Bama has 32 5 stars now.

I stopped giving any credence to Rivals many years ago. Had there been such a thing, Joe Burrow would have lost stars AFTER he won the Heisman had it been up to those frauds.

Don't pick and choose which guys to look at. Womack moved up 97 spots. Heard up 38. Adams up 38. Holstein down 52.

How do rankings change when no football has been played?

It looks like it affected the on3 ranking too though. Their composite just dropped him to a 4 star.

Actually most of Bama’s highest rated players fell a decent amount. I did notice Texas’ top commits jumped a frick load of spots

First 8 Bama guys I've seen have all fallen including Tony Mitchell another 12 spots and that dude is a dog.

This inferiority complex with Bama is embarrassing.

Texas and Oklahoma had the most big risers that I can see

For any team/player, I truly don't understand what these updates are based on. Are they just late to the game updating from summer or something? How can a player rise or fall when nothing has happened for the fall?

It is profound when you look at their pattern over recent years. Keep the perception down IRT LSU's level of recruiting and program direction.

To borrow a Japanese phrase: “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

Do these “rankings” win games or championships?

To be honest, I look at these rankings well before anyone commits. It gives me a sort of "keep an eye on" list. I then find it comical as when no football has been played, someone like Sampson, can be dropped so significantly. The only explanations can be the lack of camp exposure after committing (Which would seem unlikely given the small number of camps in the last few weeks) or institutional bias. Take your pick, either is wrong.
