247 Composite has him as a high 4* (0.9479) and the #2 player from Tenn.

Because he committed early and they never want LSU to be in first place.

An interesting thing I realized and it just may be a coincidence. In 2017 we got the #1 safety (Stevens) and the #1 ILB (Phillips). Both are Tenn. kids and both were beaten out by lower rated freshmen (Delpit/Taylor). That's not a knock on them, but it may be an indication that the level of competition in Tenn skews the ability to accurately assess talent. Regardless, I still think they are both great players and will see the field more in 2018.

I think you would need a larger sample size than 2 players to come to that conclusion but it certainly is interesting

Yep I agree, very interesting point and could have some validity to it.

Yeah, and like I said I am not bashing these kids at all. I think they will be studs given time. I also know Tenn doesn't have a history of high level HS competition.

How many LSU subscriptions on tigerbait vs geaux247?
At the end of the day the are still just services with clientele, they will cater to them where they can.

Mike Farrell. All that anyone needs to know about rivals. I read it every day but take everything over there with a huge grain of salt. Its really laughable how behind on info they are sometimes.

Woodi Washington is the best DB in Tennessee this class and it really isn’t debateable, rankings will reflect this soon enough.

You haven’t seen Phillips/Stevens up close. They’re both monsters and will wreck havoc for the next few years.
That being said, Louisiana three stars are blue chippers in Tennessee.

Rivals used to actually have a pretty decent site. It was very much skewed to favor Alabama players and prospects but that's because a former Bama grad ran the overall site content. But ever since the site went to the very downscaled and basic version that it's become the overall quality if everything from content articles to ranking have really gone to crap, honestly dont even think of them among the "major" services anymore. In reality it's 247 and then ESPN and everything else is a major step behind.

Rivals was literally the best recruiting site before 247 started. That's not saying much, b/c Scout & ESPN were absolute dogshit at the time.
They've taken a huge spiral downward over the last few years though. I haven't really checked out ESPN recently, b/c they sucked so much in the past. From what I've seen recently...247 is miles ahead of everyone else.
