Rivals Fact or Fiction - Jahkeem Stewart Stays?

LSU almost always gets the No. 1 prospect in the state. Jahkeem Stewart will also end up in Baton Rouge.
Gorney’s take: FACT. Jahkeem Stewart is going to do things his way and on his timeline and he’s been afforded that opportunity because he’s a phenomenal defensive end where every program in the country wants him badly. USC, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and others are in the mix here and Stewart has said on numerous occasions that he’s definitely not hesitant to leave the state. I believe it. But a recent visit back to Baton Rouge could have helped the Tigers and history is so strongly on their side that until something else happens, I’m still going to think LSU has the best shot here.
Levenson’s take: FACT. While right now most would say the out-of-state programs, USC, Ohio State and even Oregon, are the ones with the most momentum, I do tend to always feel the top Louisiana prospects will end up staying home. It is almost a situation of 'I'll believe otherwise when I see it' in regards to them leaving the state. Only once since 2012 has the top prospect in the state gone anywhere other than LSU and that was Arch Manning. I do feel USC has a real standing in his recruitment as does Ohio State due to coaching and legitimate, strong relationships. We also know Oregon can likely outbid anybody if the Ducks choose to. But at the end of the day, I still feel it's LSU's to lose. Louisiana has one of the strongest cultures of any state in the country when it comes to representing your state in college and even in the NFL.

Ya love to see it. I almost hate to say this lest I jinx it or something, but to me this recruitment really feels like one of those Louisiana-kid recruitments where he has little “flings” with a few different schools and has a few different leaders—including out-of-state schools—at different points in the process, but ultimately commits to LSU and shuts it down in such a way that indicates that it was actually just LSU all along.
I remember Maason smith being this way — there were points in time where USC appeared to lead and UGA appeared to lead, but once he ultimately committed his attitude really gave the impression that he was actually never particularly serious about leaving the state but was just enjoying the process and having fun with his friends.

C'mon Jahkeem. Stay home, bring our D back to what it should be, become a legend in your home state for the rest of your life!

I would think Ohio State would be greatest threat? Stewart is the top DT in the class but would bet the state of Georgia will have multiple 4*, maybe a 5* DT that the home state school can bid on. Meanwhile the state of Ohio produces gritty gutty lunchpail DT’s that they will sign maybe 1 of to keep the home state crowd happy but otherwise they need to go OOS for DT and skill guys not to become Indiana.

Ohio regularly produces NFL DT talent. Probably not in the same numbers as other states but Ohio State is the only show in the state so they don't have to share them.

The writer forgot to mention Frank Wilson a ST. Aug alum. He will pull all the stops to receive Jahkeem’s commitment.

So after Perk and Campbell are gone, who are they going to have to make sure new kids don’t get paid higher than?
Hopefully it’s Pickett because he shows out early, but is there anyone currently on the roster that’s worth as much as Perk or Campbell were as sophomores?
In short, I’m not sure we’ll have the same level of elite talent on the roster currently, which means we have drop fat bags on recruits
Stewart stays home IMO. I don’t think LSU gets outbid here.
