He hadn’t visited Mich in over a year. It was about the money.

Underwood "saga" is the best thing to happen to LSU football in decades (besides winning a NC).

I’ll say this again, frick Bryce Underwood.
Hope he sucks.

Larry Ellison with Oracle is why Bryce is at Michigan. Portnoy was just a loud voice
Actually, 33-year-old Jolin Zhu, sixth wife of 80-year-old Oracle founder Larry Ellison is the responsible person for Underwood to Michigan. She graduated from UM in 2012 and is a huge sports fan. Zhu followed Portnoy (Barstool) and heard the story of a Michigan HS kid (#1 player in the country) committed to LSU. Zhu shared the story with Ellison and she called Portnoy to set up the meeting between the 3 - the rest is history. If Zhu happened to have graduated from Cal State Long Beach, McNeese, Slippery Rock, or Harvard, Underwood signs with LSU. Another example of how puzzy is undefeated. Billionaire listens to his 33 y.o. wife and essentially writes a 8 figure check to sign a 17-yr old kid

Michigan offered an 8 figure deal to a high school senior who had been committed elsewhere for a year and didn't even visit them but sure, the move was all about playing time.
The golden quote from Underwood was that his flip was all about academics…

What if he’s HIM though?

Congrats on buying the game

If we win a national championship this year, anything Bryce does his 3-4 years will be irrelevant to us. With the new playoffs and how hard it is to maintain a roster from one year til the next, i don't expect any dynasties any time soon.

To be fair, the amount they offered was so ridiculously high, I don’t see how you turn it down.
Kid doesn’t have to perform at all and his family is set

It shows just how more valued LSU is than Michigan that it took them having to give $5 million more to get a guy 15 minutes from their campus to decommit from a school 1,200 miles away. That's honestly a bit embarassing to them.
Michigan did win a Nati in 2023, but it seemed like lightening in a bottle to me, like they had to have an inexplicable fumble from Milroe to win the Semi, then they played an honestly Washington who would have gone 8-4 in the SEC that year. I still consider them a has been program that is incredibly unlikely to win another Nati in the next couple decades.

If LSU wins a Nati this year and Bryce has a crappy season due to low talent at WR, playbook that favors running, and crappy coaches, I would not put it past him to transfer to LSU.
I'd say there is a 40% chance that Underwood transfer out of Michigan at some point. Who would be the team to lead? Maybe the one that he was committed to for a year and left at last minute just because someone gave him $5 million more.

What is the only thing to change between Underwood comittment to LSU up to signing day? Michigan's academics were the exact same during his recruitment. Not like Michigan became Harvard in that year span, and LSU dropped below La Tech. The only thing that changed was money. People don't usually change decisions that have been set for a year unless something else changes in the scenario. And the only thing that changed in that year span was money.

That site also has Chester as Center and Braelin Moore riding the pine and Paul Mubenga starting Guard. And Jardin Gilbert starting. So it obviously isn't correct.
