Is it possibly because they are going to give Dean her spot? As you know, I am vocally against the super seniors, but Dean on beam has been consistent for us at least. Also, with Lilly’s history of injuries, I am not sure it’s a terrible move, though that’s only if it was our decision and not hers. Also not sure if it is possible to pull the scholarship after NLI unless she didn’t meet some type of medical fitness (which presumably could be the case, since I think they have to pass physicals when they get to campus)

Wow, what? I didn't see this coming at all. She always seemed excited about becoming a Tiger. Is it a medical issue? She's been injured a lot.

Any chance we can pick up some of the Alabama commits? I guess it's a bit late though (for school).

I still wonder why LSU did not offer Selena Harris a scholarship. She is an awesome gymnast and has had a banner gym season.

I’ve got it from a good source that Lilly was too injured to come to LSU. Sounds like LSU made the decision or it was mutual. If that is true then Clemson could be a great fit for her. Don’t they have to wait another year before competing? It would give her time to heal and she wouldn’t be losing a year or risking further injury trying to force her way into a lineup.

That’s understandable.

We were very fortunate Priessman was as usable as she was for the most part at LSU given that gym's history.

Texas Dreams operates very similarly, most those girls bodies barely hold up entering college.

It will be interesting to see if he saves L.L's scholarship for a future recruit or will he give it to a "Walk On". We have several girls that are Walk On Gymnasts that will contribute on vault, bars and beam.

I wish had tried to get a fifth yr senior/ graduate student. Imagine if we could have gotten Abby Brenner or Norah Flatley…

I hope our post season finish this year has not influenced recruits and transfers in a negative way. It shouldn't have as all teams have their ups and downs. We could use another strong all around gymnast for the coming season.

Our season ending as well as the Alexis Jeffrey situation certainly won’t help us. We need a good rebound year or I’ll start to worry. Or worry more.

I am already very worried. I am ok with Alexis, but let's have her be an actual contributor if they went through all that drama and reputational risk. That's what I could never understand about last year, especially on bars when clearly it wasn't working with Elena when Kai was out. And honestly, she might have been better than Kai on bars too.

Season not ending well is concern. I don't think much of the Jeffrey situation, she is clearly getting a long well with the entire team, especially Kai/Kiya/Nibbs/Tatum.

2024 recruiting will be turning up shortly so I'll be on top of that pretty soon. There are some notable big recruits that have LSU among their top schools although I anticipate most of the commitments will occur during the fall when they host recruits during football weekends.

I’m ok with Alexis, too. I trust that Jay did the work and made sure the rest of the team was on board. But there’s no doubt that our reputation took a hit in the eyes of many people, justified or not. And I definitely worry about the impact it will have on recruiting. That’s why we need a big season. Success will always be the greatest recruiter.

There was no real drama surrounding Alexis Jeffrey , this was just shite stirring by the mother of Auburn gymnast Derrian Gobourne. It was really none of her damn business but he always complicit race baiting media were very willing to give the story its legs especially since Gobiourne was now the teammate of the media darling Sunisa Lee. This was all very unfair to Alexis Jeffrey.

My point is that regardless of whether the story was real or fake, there was drama surrounding it that caused substantial upheaval and at least the potential for reputations damage. If we went through with all of that, regardless of whether it should have ever been a story, then I hope we actually use her.

no LSU's reputation didnt take a hit at all. Its all in your head. All the girls on the team love Alexis Jeffrey. It was a nothing burger that the media tried to blame UCLA's shitty coaching situation/culture on.

I don’t disagree that it was manufactured drama, but I didn’t dream up the hundreds of negative comments on different online discussions. When the only people defending LSU were LSU fans, then I consider that a hit to our reputation.

If we are going by the Reddit/Gymternet, they are always going to be up and arms over particular teams no matter what they do. The vast majority of it is absurd. They are all hypocrites. There is nothing LSU can do to please them. What twitter world's view of LSU is a much different world than what perspective recruits, athletes, and their families think and see.

Bringing in Jeffrey isn't going to ruin our reputation, the product LSU puts out gymnastics wise will however. Which is why its important to have a very good year this season. Its going to be Jay's third full year as HC, its time we see significant improvement/progression
