Ideally I want Konnor McClain, Zoe Miller, Kylie Coen.

Blakey and Addison F. Feel like a pipe dream to me. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel some of their connections make them favorable towards some schools

Yep, they want us in the same Regional because it is being held in Tuscaloosa their HOME base. They do have a strong all-Around gymnast in Louisa Blanco. She has come on strong in the last two meets which were in Tuscaloosa.

Also, Oklahoma has had two meets with teams that are not in their league skill wise. This is where they put up the 198.225 and this past weekend a 197.950. They had more scheduled meets than FL and still have another meet this weekend which could catapult them ahead. KJ is a strategist in planning meets and especially routine construction. It will be interesting to see how this pans out with the tie.

Also, I wonder how much JC allows AG to decide the composition of the beam routines. With her mother being a judge she would recognize that three or four girls are struggling with the leaps. The simple leaps would bring higher scores.

Also, I’m just curious. How much time (being the head coach) has Jay missed from bars? Or being able to focus on bars? It seems like there’s a disconnect when it comes to bars. Like there’s been 8 meets with no sign of progress. Just curious as to how much time does he actually spend on bars in comparison to years past.

I think this is a fair point but I haven't been able to go to practice this year due to COVID but progress on bars has been a disappointment to me. Vault, you can clearly see the progression on that event, Bob has done a terrific job developing some great vaults. The lack of depth on bars (No Kai or Arenas this year) is hurting a bit.

I only feel solid about 3 routines going into post season (Bryant Kiya and Durante). I feel judges are really gonna hit Dunne and Alyona for their issues unfortunately unless they cleanup significantly. The 2nd spot in the lineup is an obvious throw away unless someone else falls.

I’m worried that we legitimately only have one 9.90+ bar routine going into postseason, and that’s only if Sami sticks her dismount. She still gets deducted for the leg separation in the pak and flexed feet during the dismount. I doubt they score Kiya above a 9.85 due to her being the lead off. I’m hoping I’m wrong though.

I wish lead off routines would stop getting penalized just because they are first. Kind of like Desiderio on beam, I believe her routine would score even higher if she was not first up. Although she finally got rewarded for her terrific routine this past Friday.

It be awesome if Desiderio could come back even if she did beam only. Even if her body couldn’t tolerate floor another year, she is a phenomenal lead off on beam. Her and Erin were some of the best ever at LSU

I was thinking that about Desiderio too. She's younger than the other seniors anyways, and if her body really can't handle floor then don't even have her train it. Her beam alone, especially if she's later in the lineup next year, is worth it.

Bryce Wilson rebounded from her meet at the NL cup placing first in the AA in the Yellow rose invitational

She got a 9.90 on vault, 9.775 on floor and won the bars title with a 9.650

Interesting fact, she is scoring much higher on every event than Annie Beard this season. She is gonna be something else if she keeps on track with her development. The sky is the limit with her. Big time power and flexibility. Her bars has potential as well, just needs to fine tune toe point.

Annie had a good outing on beam and floor at her last meet. If we can get two solid events from a Texas dreams gymnast I’d take it :)

Annie truly excels on beam and floor, those events are standouts for her. Not a big vaulter, but she has the potential to develop into a solid bar worker. She looks great in training, just needs to develop some consistency.

Lilly, she honestly has the potential to be terrific on bars, beam and floor for NCAA. Her vault actually is a bit better this year after she grew (so she has added more power).

Adding Bryce gives us that power punch to compliment Annie and Lilly.

Tatum competed on Sunday but do not know her scores yet.

Would also like to point out that not only is Desiderio a full year younger than the other senior girls, unlike the majority of her teammates, especially the seniors, she didn’t start gymnastics until she was 7 and began competing elite 5 years later. Most gymnasts start when they are between 2-4. While her ankles may not be able to handle floor, it seems like her body may be in slightly better shape than the others

What does Bryce compete for vault? I am hopeful for another 10 start value! Glad she came back and had a great meet after NL cup.

Would like to point out that their other loss this season came against the 7th ranked SEC team (Georgia). Pretty embarrassing. They got lucky against us with home scoring, especially in the first rotation. They won’t be so lucky at SEC’s now that we have Kiya back healthier AND in the AA. SEC Champs will come down to whoever sticks the most landings between us and the Gators. I believe Arkansas has the advantage across the board against Bama and will push for 3rd

She does a DTY. That vault is new for her but she has been training it for a while.

One thing that is interesting to note, is her AA scores from 2020 jumped an entire 2 points on average to her 2021 AA score. She went from scoring 36's in the AA all the way up to 38's in one offseason. Might be one of the most drastic jumps I have ever seen. There was a reason schools like Florida, Utah, Georgia, Alabama, Denver and Minnesota were all following her around after some of her performances early this season. As coaches, you recruit based off of now and what their potential is in the future. Bryce has not even touched the surface yet of what she is capable of as an AA gymnast. Her coaches at Pearland elite have done a terrific job. There are some other athletes that I know LSU is looking for the future. Them and WCC are gyms that are becoming rich wells for talent.

Texas Dreams and WOGA produce great gymnasts as well but they are all injured it feels like.

I believe Alabama is a great team, but I think LSU getting a healthy Kiya Johnson makes them a significantly different team come post season We were pretty limited with her all year outside of that last meet. She was one of the top AA gymnasts in the country a year ago and all we could really use her on was mostly bars and vault (and she did a watered down vault most the year).

Regardless, if anyone wants to win or do well at SEC's or post season, they all need to bring their A game and hit when it counts.

I completely agree. I think both the meet against florida and our meet this past weekend combined are a great indication of this team’s potential heading into post season. So many twitter gym fans are predicting we will crack under the pressure in post season, but they said the same thing about us back in 2019 and look where we ended up. Having Kiya back is a HUGE game changer for the overall confidence of the team knowing what she is capable of for us and what she brings to the table in terms of both her difficulty and cleanliness. Yes at this point teams want to be a well oiled machine with well established lineups that are solid and fixed but I think the fact that we just got Kiya back healthy and are potentially missing a physically and mentally healthy Reagan on beam is to our advantage. Most teams in the SEC have peaked or are starting to where as we are primed to peak at Four on the Floor with the potential we still have left to release and the momentum we built up after the last meet. The sky is the limit for these girls

Speaking of, does anyone have any more information about Reagan? Other than wht jay said after the meet? I just wonder is it mental? Physical? Some combination fo both -when she is on she is great, but she hasn’t been on at all this season.
