Looks like there's exhibitions for Ryan on vault and Ballard and Dunne on beam. No Arenas on bars? She has to be injured, right? Makes no sense not to exhibition her.

Gotta hand it to Florida, pretty phenomenal performance by the young ladies and coaches who stepped up tonight. Their biggest mistake as an OOB. Maybe there were less nerves, not expecting this meet to count. Or having Jenny gone lol

Pretty terrible meet from us but we still managed to score 197.3+ and counted no falls.

Good to see Kiya and Alyona hitting on beam.

Asking this here instead of on the rant (have also read through the rant thread and bbs thread) - didn’t have a chance to watch the meet. What was the biggest problem? Lack of energy? Using depth? Maybe it was a weird week with the weather especially after the Florida let down?

It looked like the focus and energy were low. I’d imagine the weather and Florida last week had an impact. Plus I think Bama had their best meet by far. Well above their season average.

Hmm were good at bringing out the b3st in people - auburn also had their best meet. Y far against us and Florida, though strong, had their highest score against us also. All in all, while not a great result, still pleased with at least some improvement for NQS

Does this meet improve our NQS? They are only taking 4 scores this year because of Covid. I’m not worried, either way. Our lineups weren’t even close to ideal. It’s all about peaking for Nationals at this point. We have a solid ranking secured. We need to let Kiya rest up until post season and hope everyone else can stay healthy. This week proves that no team is head and shoulders above any others. Florida has the most potential but they aren’t consistently hitting it out of the park. Oklahoma is finding its footing but again, not going 198 every meet. Nationals might actually be a fight among all 4 teams on the floor that night. Hope we are there.

Yes, We just need 2 of the scores counted to be away at least.

I think its Florida's to lose this year, just my opinion. I feel their quality of gymnastics is a bit better than everyone else if they are hitting, but they have to hit at nationals when it counts.

I feel OU, LSU,, Michigan and Utah all have good teams as well but I feel all have their holes. Do they each have the potential to go high 197 and pull it off? Sure but the consistency hasn't been there and the injuries have hurt at times.

The biggest issue for us right now is we haven't had ideal lineups out in certain places. Kiya not being fully healthy is putting a bit of a damper in our team scores. We have had to be restrictive due to the injuries as well.

I would love to see Elena on bars and Dunne on floor, but highly doubt either is gonna happen at this point.

I think we need to figure out someone else instead of kiya for the next 2 years. I love the girl and yes she is awesome but she is just not going to be healthy enough in my opinion to do aa for the next 2 years. Hopefully next years class and with Kai coming back we can fill more holes. Also I love Reagan but this year has not been her year on beam. I don’t know if it’s hers hip or her being the anchor but she just hasn’t had it this year. And I can’t figure out lineup in vault. Why are putting alonya 2nd when her 1.5 is good enough for 3rd. Why is haleigh last when kiya should be? Just my $.02

Really think this team fully healthy can win it all. When this team is fully healthy you see Kiya on all around and Dunne on beam and floor.I agree though that if not Florida’s to lose.

Aleah if healthy should be doing AA pretty early next season.

Kai worries me a bit as she seems to struggle to recover from injuries. Hopefully she will be good to go next year.

Not sure about Alyona. As for Haleigh going last, its mainly due to Kiya having more time to prep going from vault to bars according to Jay. But it honestly doesn't make a difference to me with regards to Haleigh or Kiya going last on vault, both vaults are killers if they hit them. Haleigh technically has the bigger and cleaner vault, but Kiya's can usually stick hers a little bit easier. That to me is the least of our worries.

Cal just knocked it out the park on bars! Love watching them on bars.

Agreed! We could learn a lesson or two from Cal, Minnesota and Michigan's attention to cleanliness and execution.

Thought I would share something with you all since this rarely happens to me.

An Alabama fan reached out to me on Twitter Saturday. Looks like she’s been following Bama for years now based on her posts. She likes Bama but she appears to be pretty much unbiased when it comes to other schools. (You guys know I have trust issues...so I had to verify...lol). This person was at the Bama meet on Friday night. She posed the question “Why hasn’t anything changed with LSU this year?” Basically she was saying everything still looks the same with LSU year over year. Kinda compared it to insanity. Doing the same things over and over but expecting different results. Her and I exchanged a quite a few DMs during this time. She actually appears to be a really nice person.

I think we all expected some change this year when DD retired. I was really hoping for different/easier routine construction. We were led to believe all these years that DD was the main fan of difficulty. But now she’s gone and we still see the same thing. I’m not sure how much Jay and staff could change due to Covid restrictions. If you guys have any feedback on why (at least to the naked eye) nothing has changed, please let me know. My only explanation was Covid and injuries. But even that doesn’t explain the gymnasts doing difficult skills on beam.

@tlricks04.....I’m really just a fan and not at all a gymnastics expert like many on here are. So I don’t have any insights or answers to your questions. But the one thing I have noticed is that every year does seem to be the same old thing. We start out with some noticeable weaknesses....landings not stuck etc. And we hear early on in the season things like ‘when we start finding those landings (mainly talking vault) later in the season, or we should get more of those 10.0 start values, also when we get all our best in the lineups’, etc. etc. But then the season is almost over and we still haven’t found those stuck landings, or gotten our best lineups out there, or removed the unnecessary difficulty. It just seems to be the same thing every year.

I am going to be positive and hope with incoming classes he or Ashleigh will drop some of the difficulty. If not it's going to be very frustrating.

On a different note does anyone know if something is wrong with Chase and if she will be in any lineups this week?
