Any idea why Bailey is leaving? She seems to be very close with her teammates.

Cant speak for her but there could be a couple of things

1. She may want a fresh start given everything she has gone through over the last year.

2. She may want an opportunity to compete more moving forward. She will have 3 years left to compete (she essentially redshirted this past year). Breaking lineups moving forward is going to be hell with the incoming classes we have coming in and as we get kids like Alyona and Kai healthy. She wouldn't be making a lineup on bars and beam with what we will have next year. Her best bets will be vault and floor and it may not be a guarantee to make both. I know she is a competitor and she loves to compete, so maybe if she is looking to do like 3 events every weekend, those other schools could be better potential options.

Whatever the reason is, I hope she gets what she is looking for and wish her the best of luck.

Interesting development, Shilese Jones removed “Future Florida gator” on her social media

I’m honestly not sure why any gymnast would want to go to fla, utah, or UCLA in the next few years. Their rosters are stacked with so much aa potential I can’t possibly see breaking in the lineup until your jr or sr year. I guess the same could be said for us but we have a huge class leaving after next year and basically no jr class. Aleah is supposed to come in 22’ but with the Olympics getting pushed back she is liable to defer another year. I guess if that happens a lot of gymnasts will have to make a decision.

With the name, image, and likeness thing likely to pass, I don’t see why a lot of gymnasts won’t flip to California. Cali has a lot of more marketing opportunities than most states. Also, keep an eye on LIU. I can see a lot of gymnasts flocking there. It’s a new program with an up and coming coach in Randy Lane.

Getting back to Kai’s bars routines for the year...in the meet against Missouri, Kai only did a toe on to Maloney to bail, and the DLO dismount. They took out the tkatchev and full pirouette. She scored a 9.85 and it was a really clean routine. I wonder why they reverted back to her other routine in the meets that followed (minus the pirouette).

The news about Shilese is great to hear!! She's such a beautiful and powerful gymnast.Transparently, it still stings to see Trinity in Blue & Orange, but if we can flip Shi to us, that would be amazing!! Personally, I think he personality fits beautifully into our current roster... come on Jay... work your magic!!

Her Instagram says Future Gator again. Looks like she just edited the font.

I swear she is playing games with people. She removes Florida social media posts for weeks then randomly adds it back up.

I honestly wished LSU could have picked up Sunisa Lee, but no one had a chance for her given who her coach is and the Auburn affiliation.

The top 2021 recruits still on the table include Aleah's teammates Leanne Wong and JaFree Scott. I heard some Michigan chatter with JaFree Scott before but don't know how credible that. is.

A lot of kids, especially your top recruits don't care too much about the competition. If you are truly really good, you will find a spot in lineups even as a freshmen. Its difficult for any athlete to do AA on any of those top programs, very few actually get to do that.

Aleah signs her NLI this fall and will be on campus fall of 2021, right after the olympics are held that summer. No reason for her to defer. She isn't holding out for the olympics after, thats way too long.

Texas Dreams is working it’s way. Annie Beard looking great. Curious if Kim will work to upgrade her vault. I really believe going back to level 10 out of elite will be best for her future aspirations and college career.

Throw back 2020 Floor routine

Haleigh Bryant is about to be training again which is great news.

Wasn’t necessarily talking about the top elites but the other girls. In 2 years you will have trinity, Morgan, shilese, and Riley who I would imagine would all expect to compete in at least 3 events and you still have Peyton Richards who was doing a bang up job of aa this past season. I personally would just want to take my talents somewhere I could actually compete in at least 2 events. I think that Arkansas is going to be a fast riser in recruiting because of Jordan so maybe she will start getting some elites.I was a mizzou fan until this past season where I read a lot of unsavory stuff about their coach so now I’m kinda not. So in wrap up I’m just saying I can see some Of the lesser knowns going to different schools to compete there. These are the last years of a sport I assume they love. Plus until Florida wins an actual championship, not a “we would have won this year” imaginary one, I would never go. But this is all just my opinion. I have no idea what these girls are thinking. I thought trinity wanted to go to fla bc they were going to let her swim but I haven’t seen that yet so who knows.

Honestly never heard her name before, but then again, adding walk ons can be random.

We have a lot of walk ons already. 21 class was the next step unless we are that desperate for depth? Which I don't think we are. Especially with Brock and Ballard as walk ons.

But with Bailey leaving and Caitlin Smith not a likely contributor, thats two scholarships.

When do transfers need to decide if they’re transferring /where they’re going? Also any word on when the girls will be able to return to campus?

I don't think ther eis an NCAA mandated transfer date. Its likely up to the individual team to accept the transfer and then it depends upon the last date for the student athelte to enroll.

The scholarship eligibility would depend upon the open spots and in some sports the annual limitations.

Some smoke that auburn could be it for Bailey. Heard some chatter with Nebraska but I would think she wants to stay in the south. Don’t know of any timeline on a decision though
