Maxwell is rumored to take Jordy Bahl's spot at OU. That will sting for OSU fans.

That would double suck for LSU

We won’t deal with her because she is a grad student and OU joins the SEC after next season.
But OU will be a bitch for everyone else regardless, they just continue to reload and just dominate annually. Only select few teams have been able to be somewhat competitive but that likely isn’t changing until Patty retires but every reign comes to an end or slows down eventually

Hard to tell what the thinking is but I think A&M and LSU are possibilities because both have vet schools... OU could be in the hunt. Don't always believe the rumors on Twitter...

I love this program, and I want to see it be successful. I’m certainly not going to get involved in nor entertain some of the other comments from people that start bashing travel teams, coaches, and certainly not a kid. Any 16 year old girl can be a diva at any given point.Lol, it doesn’t take away from their talent. Fact of the matter is, the kid received multiple full ride offers from most of the SEC and other power 5 school to include OU so coaches that are better and smarter than us must’ve seen the same thing Beth saw. Same thing with Harris playing at high-level 16s. No one knows until they get here and we actually see how they perform. I hope they all perform the way we want them to. My opinion, we have had pitchers that have pitched well enough to get us where we want to go, but we just haven’t had the consistent bat support. I hope it all comes together. I can’t wait to see you were looking at in the 2025 class.

I've always agreed as both a HS and travel ball coach that if my players or teams could play up and be competitive, then they should do so. But if they can't, then they need to stay where they can be competitive and gain confidence.
I've had some 16U teams that were very competitive playing up (not every week playing up) and it gave my kids confidence in their abilities, but also showed them what they needed to improve on to be successful at the next level.
As a HS coach, I normally played a tough non-district schedule. It almost backfired on me one year when I was starting 7 freshmen (we were 6A). I kept the same schedule as the year before when we were 33-5 with 8 seniors. We started 1-15, but had 9 one run losses. People in town said the game passed me up & were trying to talk me into retiring. We opened district with the #5 team in the state with pitcher who pitched at Texas A&M and beat them. You could see the confidence in the faces of those girls and we went 13-3 in district play (lost that return game 1-0 in 10 innings) and we went 3 rounds in the playoffs. The improvement was worth playing the tougher schedule in the long run, but it was tough at times.

Does anybody know if LSU Softball has any players from last season's roster who are in the Portal? Was Alea Johnson the only transfer out?

Maybe I'm too far removed from my travel ball days (over 10 years) but I'm confused about committed rising seniors playing 16u. I just saw that Destiny Harris is also playing 16u this summer as a '24 commit. I was TERRIBLE and even I was playing 18u as a junior/rising senior.
Is this common now? Have I just missed it and it is a normal thing for the players we are bringing in to only have played one summer against the best high-schoolers in the country (or even their area)? This is baffling to me. How are these players supposed to step on campus and play against 20-21 year old all-americans when they just started playing the best players in their own age group? No wonder these highly ranked kids come in and then "under perform," they have been playing down for years. Now they are in the SEC playing like 4 years up for the first time and, of course, are struggling.
Everything makes so much more sense now.

based on Kelly Maxwell’s recent followings on Instagram, it looks like she’s down to OU or Florida. she followed the assistants from OU and Tim Walton :/
how would OU even have room for another transfer pitcher after just picking up Keeney from Liberty and Monticelli from Wisconsin?

Thanks for the link.. lots of interesting posts & a lot that don't know anything about what Kelly is planning to do... I not sure myself either, so I don't speculate much.
