Not according to me. According to how they have done the awards every week. Going almost exclusively by AA score for GOTW and FOTW. That’s all I really mean, that they won’t give it to anyone who didn’t have the highest score.

I firmly agree that they SHOULD take more into account. For example, who helped their team to a big victory even if they didn’t have the highest AA score that week? Who posted multiple personal bests? Etc.

I gotcha. That’s what I think too. In my opinion if your team loses (Fla against us), you shouldn’t be getting an award. Plus most freshman aren’t doing aa. I think her and gabby (bama) are the only ones.

ETA: maybe nya

Just to chime in - I don't htink FOTW has to do all-around; but FOTW would potentially be eligible for GOTW if they were doing all-around, but since Trinity is essentially winning that every week, there is no where for Kayla to go. I don't have as much of a problem with Kayla winning FOTW as I do with Trinity, given there just aren't a lot of freshman truly competing the way she is. But, I feel there are a lot of AAs putting up really competitive scores (not just ours, Blanco, for example, as well, and Raena Worley) who are just not able to get the honors because of Trinity (again, Trinity, a great gymnast, just tired of the perfection narrative (and the actual perfection that makes her hard to beat!))

That being said, I am not sure the gymnasts care about this as much (or even know how it is picked), lol

I was talking about trinity winning gotw when they lost to us. I’m sorry but if your team loses I dont think your aa score matters. I just think they should put a little more thought into these awards. Yes Kayla is a great freshman but she has more years to win gotw. I just think they should spread the love. There are some great gymnasts in this conference. Also I think if most weeks you compete aa but the 1 or 2 you don’t, you shouldn’t be eligible for sotw. This is also a trinity and suni gripe. Lol they are amazing gymnasts but really, recognize some other girls. Rant over!

I also think the girls may not care but we the fans do!

I saw there will be live scoring for the meet tomorrow night. There isn't a link yet but hopefully it will be soon.

ETA: Anyone attending the meet on Friday?

Lots of articles out about livvy right now and one in particular doesn’t look great. It’s about using ai for learning. LSU put out a statement about using it but didn’t name her specifically.

Meet notes for tonight's meet are out.

LINK

Wish we'd see AJ again on floor over Elena. I feel like with a little more competition time she could follow the same path Chase did.

Also kind of confused on why Kai is out of the beam lineup, but is listed as an alternate on floor, of all things.

I agree, but at least Alexis is in the beam lineup again. And Jay probably should have put her in on floor a little earlier in the season to get enough experience before postseason.

Hopefully it's a good sign that Tori is listed as second alternate on vault and we will se her compete eventually this season.

Anyone know the status of alyona’s injury? We need not ride her too hard if she is not 100%, because she is very inconsistent under those circumstances.

I feel it’s odd that sierra is over Kai - perhaps the meet notes are incorrect. I note they have been from time to time. Or perhaps Kai has a nagging injury.

Surprised there's no steaming option at all tonight. I forget what meet it was last year but it was one of the smaller out of conference meets and even they had some streaming service that had the clarity of a tv made in the 1970's with two students who had never watched gymnastics before announcing. It was worth the $10 just to hear those two announce. Me and the wife we cracking up laughing at the dude, "Wow, she did a lot of good flips there."

I already see an error in the meet notes. They list Brock’s vault as a full when she has been doing the 1.5 every time she has vaulted. I’m sure they aren’t downgrading her vault after a 9.975 last week.

Well guess we actually may see Alexis on floor and Tori on Vault

Maybe even Cowan on Bars!

Does anyone have the exact scoring link (not just a link to my meet scores)?

Yes, it’s another bump in the road but it’s not the end of the world. We won’t, in all likelihood, post a high road score tonight without her. But this team has shown resilience and getting in more routines is never a bad thing. This team will go into post season with absolutely nothing to fear. They have had so many hurdles. They know they can all come together and put out their best and it is what it is.

I know it is not devastating just weary of watching the struggle for this season. The meet has been delayed until 6:30 according to LSUsports.net.

I’m starting to feel like this seasons theme should be #survive instead of the #climb.

The boys keep coming. Why would they try to put Kai in floor. Can’t imagine she’s been practicing that. I almost feel like Jay should show 6 on lineup and if 5 hit let it ride.
ETA: the hits not the boys! Lol
