Noticed in this report Cook mentioning the depth chart SEC Country

"If I go to LSU, Coach O [Ed Orgeron] showed me the depth chart and it’s looking good with Donte Jackson and Kevin Toliver leaving and Greedy Williams and Kary Vincent, and Kary’s a nickel, so it’s looking good."

Also in the article he reads a message from Orgeron that says, ”I told the staff that cornerback is a top need for us and you are a priority for us. We are losing two more to the NFL and I can’t wait to see you play in purple and gold for us next year”

I could see possibly Jackson leaving early, he would probably get drafted in the first three rounds. But Toliver??? He shouldn't leave yet.

If this is the case and they both leave we will probably need Surtain Jr. and Cook in this class to help fill the void. All of the sudden DB is a huge need for us.

Edited to update title.

Both of them are playing lights out the last few weeks. If they continue to play that way, no reason they should stick around if their stock is as good as it will get.

Remember, Tre'Davious White only came back for his senior year because he did not have a good junior season. His NFL stock was kind of mid rounds at best. He came back and played lights out to be a 1st round pick.

As I’ve said before, Tolliver’s measurables will wow many scouts/coaches and DJ will run a 4.2 that puts him in the 1/2 rounds. Cook and Surtain could both be starting next year.

and that's not good

To much fricking turnover, I like both Cook & Surtain, but I'd be much more comfortable with seniors guarding the corners while the new guys get caught up to speed.

Kristian Fulton? Is he still on the team?

I'm not saying they will turn out to be studs, but there are many other players on this team that are capable of playing corner. Kristian Fulton, Kary Vincent, Greedy Williams along with 5 star studs potentially coming in.

LSU will be fine at the CB position.

I don't know any other corners in the country who are better than Kevin Tolliver. Donte Jackson is not the complete corner that Tolliver is. DJ is just so damn fast he can make small mistakes and still be effective. KT is gonna run a 4.5 at 6'2+ 210 lbs. has a record of great plays and when the ball is thrown to his side he's a playmaker. He will be at the very least bottom of the second round. Who doesn't want a big cover corner though?

I'm confident in Greedy and Kary, I just get irritated that we have this type of turnover every year

Negative

Fulton and greedy start. Vincent at nickel

(Assuming Fulton gets his shite together)

Cook and Surtain could log significant snaps though.

KT couldn't even get back on the field at times the last two seasons. He is playing well, but he has had his share of issues.

Hopefully, we will get at least 2 out of the 3 with Surtain, Cook, and Joseph. It's hard to expect to get all 3.

And don't forget 13. I know he was a 3 star and played QB in high school but seems really athletic

By “start” I should have implied one will possibly be our Nickle and the other our Dime corner.

they are both going to be late 1st to 2nd round type of players, IMO. and, they will both leave.
