Wonderful, and that's your prerogative, but you just described a bunch of reasons to pay attention to a recruit before they commit anywhere. That's a far cry from what you posted up until that point. No one is saying crystal balls are the end-all of recruiting or even all that accurate, but seeing trends in them is a way of taking the temperature of the opinion of people who cover this for a living, and some people are going to want to discuss that without being lectured to about how it's a waste of time, on a board designated for that type of discussion.

Green to Get Kenyon, O!

Yep. Green would be very near the top of the list. Green and Kardell would anchor the OL for the next 3+ years.

A great OL can make average RB and QB talent very good and poor OL play can make great RB and QB talent below average. Build from the trenches up.

And the guy on BOL seems pretty confident about the smite kids. They are saying it will play out like surtain’s recruitment and as long as Joe P is still on the staff they will go there

CB's don't always mean much, but sometimes they do. Since you mentioned Brooks, see my post:

LINK
He wasn't supposed to commit until the summer. When rumor came of a commit coming later that day I said "maybe Brooks" and was quickly corrected that it couldn't be him.

When non-LSU guys give us CBs it typically is more indicative of a more solidified get.

At the end of the day it's nothing more than a trend in most cases, so why not enjoy that a player is trending LSU?

I'd rather be cautiously optimistic than perpetually miserable.

You have to take that with a grain of salt, especially this far out. If they’re still chirping in January then it’s time to notice, but in years past they’ve done the “well, things change” just like anyone else.

on the other hand, if a pattern of data emerges that negates the data you're presenting, why should we give it any weight in discussion?

The only one he's ever called is Surtain, and he really only started chirping leading up to signing day. One recruit doesn't constitute a track record.

What in the actual frick are you talking about?

The post I quoted was that he would not believe anything until signing day. So I questioned why he would be here, reading, prior to signing day. It's pretty simple. There's plenty of room for discourse, even if it's not positive, without the "none of this matters until signing day" posts littering every damn thread.

I was actually coming here to post this. I think we get Emery. Not sure if you noticed Noah Cain got yet another CB to Texas, putting him at 50% to the Horns. If that is the case, and he ends up in Austin, I think Emrey sees his opportunity at LSU and signs with us.

However, I think Sopsher ends up in Crimson but I am holding out hope based off of one thing: The tie to his brother will be X factor in his recruitment. O has been recruiting both of those kids for a long time and has built that relationship up, if we can pull his brother from the JUCO ranks I think that gives us the edge with Ishmael.

Either way, I saw the CBs as great news, something us LSU fans need since it's always so doom'n gloom around here.

Coach O and the recruiting staff is definitely doing work. Sadly, I think we lose ground with a few of these guys as the season progresses. I have LSU finishing 4th in the west, and that isn't a good look with all of these high profile recruits. I still think we end up with a decent/solid class, but it won't be near the potential that it possibly could be.

This is exciting, having those two fellas trending toward LSU. If we land Kardell, best OL in country. Sopsher, best DL in country. Stingley, best CB in country. Emery and Davis, best 2 RB in country. Brooks, best OLB in the country. We Coming!!!!!

I hope we have a good year but if this goes south then holding on or getting top recruits to sign with LSU may be tough. Make it happen Ed O

I don't know why people get excited. Most of these guys don't know what they are talking about. Until they sign I don't care anymore. Not getting played again

Great insights! Like some others have said, really, why do ya'll even read the recruiting board then. Why not just wait until Feb. 6th to see who signs?? Will Solid commitments to LSU and commits recruiting for us, make you feel somewhat positive?
