This kid will thrive in Canada's offense.

Perfect for what Canada does

I think you are dead on. I think LSU's offense actually has a chance to really be good. Too bad we didn't unload GoodOleOess before the season started. Had we have been in Canada's offense for a whole year, recruiting players to it would be easier. At least we finally have turned a corner as far as I feel, and I wish the season started today. I dont think we would have hired Canada at the beginning of last year. This past year at pittsburgh he proved something.

Why do people like your dumbass come out of the woodwork with nothing of any value to contribute.

Remove your dumbfrick 4th grade educated self out of the discussion. You clearly dont know a fricking thing about football, and thats why shite like this is the best you can do. At the very least provide a valid argument on why Smith is going to be so much better of a receiver than McMath. Seriously, this board has some of the biggest idiots on any message board ever seen.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of fricktards on this board exactly like you, and all of you need to fricking leave for good.

People like you on this board lower the overall IQ here by at least 50 points.

wanna bet?

would say why are people like you coming out of the woodwork. You are shitting on a potential recruit for no other reason than Smith isn't favored to come here by our recruiting analysts. Which receiver you think is better doesn't matter, and this is a thread to celebrate our new wide receiver commitment, not to discuss anyone else.

Name some other 165lb receivers that become great in the SEC, the list is very few and far between.

ya'll had one last year, Calvin Ridley, who wasn't any bigger coming out of high school. Didn't he make all SEC? Any way he is a dam good receiver despite his thin stature.

But yes McMath, is a great get by LSU and very underrated but would be nice to get Smith also

The main difference between Smith and McMath is Smith is very polished. He runs excellent routes, makes excellent cuts, camouflages his cuts well, and is able to get open. He's also an excellent blocker on the ends. McMath, on the other hand, is very raw. He doesn't know how to run routes, he doesn't know how to make cuts, he doesn't know how to camouflage his cuts so he can get open, and he doesn't know how to block on the ends. However, if he red shirts for one year, he should be just as good as Smith, as LSU will drill him on all of that stuff everyday, and when he does, we got ourselves a real big 6'3" 215 lb wide receiver that could become a star. I think he has a higher ceiling than Smith.

Oh, by the way, both Smith and McMath run a 4.45 40.

Your a real moron arent you?? To call me a Bama lover couldn't be more of a flat out lie.

Because I called out Smith in this case, due to irrational\erratic behavior when being recruited by LSU in no way shape or form makes me a Bama fan at all. Having an objective point of view on all recruits is something all of us should be doing. If they act like entitled little babies, then all of us fans ought to state that as well, regardless of them being an LSU recruit or not.

If a kid is acting like a drama queen, potential LSU recruit or not, I will call it that way. I dont need or care about your approval or anybody else's for that matter to make a statement like that, because it is true that the kid has acted that way, whether you want to admit that or not.

Get your fricking facts straight you POS, the odds are very good that I have hated Bama for longer than you have been alive, so never call me a Bama lover. I have repeatedly said Nick Saban is the biggest douchebag of a coach in football today.

In fact, from what I have seen, I'm one of the only people on this entire board that believes he is highly overrated from the standpoint of technical coaching strategy. His lack of strategical football knowledge is one of several reasons he sucked when he tried to be an actual NFL head coach with the Miami Dolphins.

Im supposed to be impressed with the number of posts you have, are you like 10 yrs old or something? Who gives a shite? It just means you have a very high ratio of posting completely worthless posts every single day, probably 20 times\day for 5 straight years.

Don't ever come at me with your pretentious condescending act of who you know is an "LSU football fan" again, because you really dont have any fricking clue who is actually a real LSU football fan or not. All I can say for sure is I've been an LSU football fan for a pretty long time, since back in the Dalton Hilliard, Tommy Hodson days.

What is this drama queen behavior other than the fact he hasn't committed to LSU fast enough for your liking?

Its the back and forth game playing that it seems like has ha been playing with LSU for years now.

One day he states or says something in print that leads one to believe he is serious about playing here, and in the next day or coming days you read stuff that contradicts what he said earlier by 180 degrees. The whole recruiting thing is an extremely frustrating game, and it sure is appreciated when we get kids that flat out say they are going to play ball here at LSU no matter what.

Actually, the game playing he did with us was very similar to how Devin Moses treated us. That being said I realize they are high school kids, but I was raised that after you give your word to someone you need to keep it.

I seriously doubt Smith chooses LSU based upon what has occured thus far, but it doenst matter, In my opinion at this point, I think we got a player in McMath that will end up being a better receiver in the long run.

We need hard nosed kids that are willing to put in the work to get better here, and if a kid never had those attributes instilled in him from an early age, there is a good chance he will never get them.

Can you give an example of a back-and-forth game playing? Seems to me just been very tight-lipped about his recruitment. Sorry hasn't made a decision quick enough for your liking that doesn't make him a primadonna people like you ripping on him makes absolutely no sense

He hasnt said anything bad about LSU, but I havent found much that he has said about LSU directly at all, indicating that were were ever really a serious contender as one of his chosen schools. Most of the things you read attributed to him, could just be people in the family who knows?

From everything you read on nola, the advocate, and Shea's twitter feed, you come away from all of it feeling like he is playing us, and it doesnt make any sense as to why, LSU has never done anything to him but let him know we really would like him to play football here.

Part of the problem is that I take the whole recruiting thing way too personally, but I think all of us can agree we really want to see kids play here that genuinely want to be here. If a kid really doesn't feel like playing here, ok, cool, but I wish they would just be straightforward about it and say that. I can respect when a decision is made one way or another, but make the decision, and try do do things the right way. That is basically all I mean.

In my opinion, I still think we got a player who is going to be better in the long term in McMath, but that still remains to be proven. Personally, I would like to see us sign a linebacker in the place that Smith would have taken, because I think that is an area of a much higher need right now.

I haven't gotton the feeling he is playing us at all. Seems pretty tight lipped about the recruiting process. Good chance he ends up at bama but a lot of in state recruits are late in making their decisions of who to commit to. Plenty that have wound up committing to LSU late as well. Seems a lot of people on this board thought Beckwith was going to Bama as well for example. Certainly would be ideal if all the instate targets made early commitments to LSU, but no need to be pissed at the ones that don't (at least wait until they commit somewhere else, then be mad if you want)

Not mad, McMath has prototype size and speed right now, and we can now concentrate on recruiting positions we are in dire need of, like LB, and DL.

I sure hope we land Marvin Wilson, he has the potential to become very dominant anywhere on the DL for us.

Was just checking out this guys highlights and how he wasn't more highly recruited and ranked is beyond me? He's easily a 4* guy, I would even say mid to high 4* guy. I mean it really doesn't matter but it just makes you realize that these rankings mean squat when it comes to many of these prospects. LSU got a solid WR here, tough, fast, tall, and most of all he's very much aware on the field. I don't know him very well so it could be his route running, and hands that aren't above average but he's got all the natural talent you could want. GT

I'm really happy they got this kid because I wanted them to, he may be raw, but his talent and ability is freakish. The kid is already NFL sized at 6'3" 210 lbs. and is only 18 meaning his body hasn't fully matured. Once he starts working out, I don't want him to gain too much weight, but he could easily gain 10 pounds of muscle which is scary. He already runs a legit 4.4, shite, by the time he leaves LSU he could be a freak of a WR that is 6'3" or 6'4" 220 lbs. running in the 4.3's. I would hate to tackle him in the open field. lol
