Received 6 Cb's back-to-back to go to Ohio State, including one from Steve Wiltfong. I really wish the LSU staff would have got after him a little more.

With Justin Rogers and foster in the mix no room for Baldwin. Just the way the cookie crumbles some times

I see what you're saying, and I realize they're trying to reel in other fish as well. I just have my doubts about Rogers because nearly everything I've read about the kid says he's sticking with TCU. I'm not saying we should just drop it and move on but I feel like focusing on only 2 QB's, one of those being really firm on his current commitment (Rogers), is a bit risky. With our QB situation being wide open next year I think vetting any and every QB prospect we can is paramount. Just my $0.02.

I see what you're saying, but I think Canada is looking more towards dual threat QBs. I think we'll see more of what he personally wants to run when we have one at the helm.

No insider but Foster seems like the guy.

Jimbo is up in the air at FSU, I think Rogersnwill stick with TCU and Foster decomitted after our offer a few months back.

I just hope we don’t slow play Foster while chasing Rogers down a dead end road.

I trust the staff’s talent evaluation but they have acted wrecklessly in the past...especially with QB recruiting.

Foster is just as likely to follow Jimbo to a&m according to some insiders. Should definitely not expect foster or Rogers to be locks at all. Shake as many qb bushes as you can because it can go alot of different ways, especially with the doubt of a future OC for us. So retarded that we leaked that for recruiting purposes

Seems very plausible. I can see that being how it stands today.

I doubt they are slow playing Foster; both our Staff and Foster were pretty much enamored with each other. I can see Rogers being recruited harder because of several reasons: A) In-state, B) Marshall, C) Higher rating. But recruiting one harder than the other doesn't necessarily mean slow playing one of them. IF they are, they shouldn't.

From some perspectives offering Tua last year was not an error. In the end both Narcisse (who had flirted with AU throughout) and Brennen both signed. The uproar and "that's costing us Brennen" narrative was limited to tigerdroppings; going by the net results, it played out well and was not an error. A couple meetings with Canada, and Brennen was back on board.

Well neither one of those sound like locks to me.

Baldwin really doesn't fit OSU's offense and Emory Jones hasn't flipped yet to Bama so I think people are jumping the gun.

Baldwin will be a career backup at Ohio St. with all the QB talent they have in waiting. I hope he ends up somewhere like Iowa or Minn where he can compete to become a starter.

This is what O is known for, recruiting. He is adamant about keeping our best talent instate. If he is preaching that the best players have to stay instate then he has to put up a fight for the best recruits in the state committed or not. We need a qb this class he has and must continue to recruit Rogers hard until he signs.

His only significant offer right now is OSU. I'd imagine IF LSU struck out on the bigger names they could still go after him. And though he maybe would have to swallow his pride a bit, LSU would be the better spot. OSU has made a living on dual-threat QB's. This guy really doesn't fit the mold. On the other hand, LSU just spent two years with Purdue transfer starting at QB. Brennan and/or Narcisse could be the next great SEC QB(s), but no one can say that for sure. He could come into LSU and compete right away.

Also, I believe Rogers is signing in December and enrolling in January, while Foster is a summer enrollee.

I thought Canada was going in-home with him this week. We'll just have to wait and see if they extend an offer. I'm hoping they do.

Perhaps you are underestimating Baldwin's talent. Why do you discount him?

Also, doesn't seem likely that Ohio State in general, or Meyer in particular, would make an offer to a QB believed to be a career backup. They pull talent from everywhere. They do have the #1 ranked class currently.

Depth. They like a mix of guys. Joe Borrow is a year ahead of Haskins, yet Haskins is the backup. Both are pro style, yet Haskins can actually run. Burrow will never see the field once Martell wins the backup spot next year.

That's a teleological argument.

OSU did NOT recruit Borrow to be a career backup.

I’m my very unprofessional opinion I like Baldwin more than Foster and Rodgers. He and Rising are the guys I want

Sure, whatever you want to call it. At the same time though, every year you guys mention so and so, at this or that position is for depth purposes. So I see no problem stating the same.

Never said he did, but also who knows but Urban? You think Cardele was ever expected to be a starter? As a redshirt junior he still couldn't beat out a redshirt freshman for the job and he had to wait until that guy got injured to even see the field past backup status. Miller would have still been the starter if not for the arm injury, and Jt would have been the backup with Burrow as the deoth/emergency guy.

Haskins is your guy next year, Martell (assuming he stays) is your backup, and Burrow is the depth/emergency guy. Same thing as his previous set up.
