His family reached out to our coaches, we didn't call him. If that ain't open I don't know what is.

Bob is there anything you can tell us about the coaching search. You seem to have solid info.

Everything I've heard has pretty much been said. They prefer Herman but Texas might be hard to overcome, Jimbo is the next option, things get interesting after that. Lots of names have been thrown around after the obvious two. LSU is split on Orgeron. Some want him, others are against it, and then others are taking a wait and see approach. If he wins out it would look really bad if we don't hire him. If he beats Bama I think Ed will get a lot more people in his corner. Anything less than winning out makes it highly unlikely he's hired as HC.

It could, also, be that it's one of the best games of the year in an amazing atmosphere and they just wanted a free entry to it. I'd hope he'd consider coming here, but really unless he openly says he's considering LSU - I'm going to look at this as free tickets to one of the biggest games in college football this season.

I thought the staff decided to postpone official visits until after the season?

yep

It's all good though... If an official visit and the best Saturday night game of the season in the Valley can't put us on his short list then so be it. After this weekend, I could see him giving us some consideration depending on the new HC...

especially with a win.

I watched his highlight from before this year, and I don't think he threw a single pass from a clean pocket all year. His o-line struggled.

They did and I'm pretty sure guys don't get their official visits until they're seniors. I think Lawrence is coming down on his own dime

He's planning on going to Bamako for the iron bowl as well...

Either he likes Bama and is using us, or he's just using teams to see their best home games....

IMO

Most likely he is just trying to get a good sense of the gameday atmospheres at the top programs to help him make a good decision.

Pretty much how I see it too. It's definitely good though.

Except he's not considering Bama but is going to the iron bowl in Bama.

That's my point. He sees tow of the biggest games of the year and has no real past interest in either teams in those games.

So you think he wants to come sit til Eason is gone? I seriously doubts he wants to ride the pine like that.

He would sit for his redshirt season and then take over. Not exactly a big wait.
