Nah O is trying to build some trust in Amite, he’s not going to screw Rodney over.

It worked out with the Fournettes. And little bro wasn't too bad to have around, especially with our lack of rbs this year.

You can say those guys contributed after the fact, but who is to say Rodney doesn’t play special teams or becomes a practice hero or something. He could develop and contribute. Or not. It still doesn’t change the fact that guys get scholarships and coaches get jobs all the time to attract recruits.

It’s not new, it’s just not usually so public.

Just look at the game 2 days ago. We dressed out like 5 D-Linemen

Not saying he will be an every day contributor but DL bodies have value

The fact that he couldn't get on the field at 2 different JUCOs would indicate that.

The fact that no one heard of him as a football player until his younger brother mentioned his name, despite him having played on the same team as about 6 other D1 prospects would indicate that.

And yes, warm bodies on the DL have value. But those warm bodies should bring something positive on their own behalf. Whether that's a high GPA walk-on, or a recruited player who actually earned his offer. Rodney Sopsher is neither of those things.

Taking on dead weight to appease a player with make up issues is a recipe for disaster. The downside so far outweighs the upside on this that it's not even funny.

Yes, because Head Coach of LSU wants the #1 DT in the country because of perception....

Absurd seems to be a absurd word to use even for a Penn fan.
You also used the plural "demands" so are there other demands?

If you're going to nitpick, you should first learn when to use "a" and when to use "an."

Would agree with all of that, people can compare it to Lanard but he was a parade all American compared to Rodney

I also don’t like the public demand of this. It’s one thing to have a wink wink behind the scenes agreement but this is different. It reeks of an entitled arse that has overvalued himself. We’re likely going to meet his demands but that doesn’t mean we have to be comfortable with the arrangement.

i would love for ish to start dictating Rodney's playing time once he gets on campus.

ie...I ain't starting unless it's next to my bro.

We all see a pattern of behavior with Ish. Some of us think he'll be trouble, some of us think he'll get straightened out. If he does get straightened out, it'll likely be due to the coaches and his teammates holding him accountable. It's a very real possibility that this happens, if Saban ends up letting us have him.

LSU is the only school that has offered his brother a scholarship. It's beyond likely at this point. LSU is giving him exactly what he wants and he's still trying to make the same deal with other schools.

That's the thing...what if the other schools oblige? We can all see that his latest quotes come across as a specific plea to Alabama to match LSU's offer.

If we land the Sopshers, which could very well happen, it'll be because Saban decided to not take Rodney. Saban will have to pass on the #1 DT in the country in order for us to land him.

Who ever posted the prom analogy earlier pretty much nailed it. LSU has given him what he wants. With that he's turned to another school and said, "they've offered it, now will you?"

That's not the behavior of someone who really wants to be at LSU.

If Ish sends his to Bama, tell Rodney that our fax machine is broken...

Ish wants to go to Bama with his brother...I believe this. But Bama might not take his brother, so we may end up with Ish. Not the end of the world, and I'll gladly take it.

Anyone that's been to LSU knows that it gets in your blood. It never happened for Ish, but that would change in a hurry if he were to suit up for us.

I believe he's leveraging his situation to try and get his brother a scholarship at the school he wants to go to. When/If his strong arm tactic fails he very well may sign with that school anyway.

CantLSU offer Rodney a Preferred walk on spot together with Some type of full ride scholarship or something like that? Not sure letting players dictate to a program is the best idea, even if they are very talented.
