Rather than letting him use us for leverage to get Bama to offer sib, why don't we put a time limit on the offer. You sign before Feb 1st, or we withdraw the offer for your brother. He is just using us. If he really wants to go to school with his brother, sign now! Otherwise, what he really wants is to go to Alabama with his brother and we are helping him get there.

I would feel kinda shitty as his brother knowing i'm only getting an offer bc my brother is really good. Would feel very awkward around all the other players.

I'm sure that many of you have said this, but the Sopshers have an offer to play together at LSU. What's stopping them from committing? Holding out for a dual Bama offer is the only thing I can think of.

they can't sign now. Not until NSD. He can commit publicly but not sign.

I see this posted a lot with regard to Sopsher and Lee. From their perspective, what's the point in committing right now? They can't sign until February and are still taking visits.

They might be waiting for Alabama because they really would rather be there. They might be waiting because they're not 100% sure where they want to go yet. They might be waiting because they want to evaluate all of the options available to them on signing day and not just the options that are available to them RIGHT NOW.

Saban tried to screw us by using Hootie Jones to possibly mess up the Jamal Adams commitment. I have a hard time thinking this is not the same sort of situation.

Either Sopsher changes his mind at the last second on having to be with his brother or Bama gives in and agrees on a double scholarship. IMO, Saban has already agreed to take Rodney but things are being kept quiet because Nickt likes to play games.

Either way we get screwed by holding 2 spots open and not getting the prize.

That doesn't screw LSU. They just go find a couple Juco kids or transfers.

Couldn't he have signed in December?

You don't hold 2 spots open. If ANY of the big fish that are currently unsigned want in, you take them. If signing day rolls around and we only have 1 scholarship remaining and Rodney gets left out, that's Ish's fault for slow playing.

Interesting revelation from nola.com

Ishamel said it’s not yet clear if Rodney would sign this season or spend another year in junior college.

That is interesting. I see possible leverage in our future.

Another? Wouldn't that necessitate that he's actually completed one?

You would because you are not looking for a free ride without earning it. Sopshers have a different mentality.

Doesn't that set him up to go to Bama or another school with the "promise" that they will take the brother next year, knowing they won't.

How many years (if any) did he play in JC?

This sounds like a Saban "we really like you and want to track you, but need to see you play more...if you play one JC year and dominate, we'll definitely sign you next year" type of ploy.

Hopefully. He's also about to drop in the recruiting rankings after his lackluster performance in the UA game.

Yeah, it could be a ploy...but if Rodney is qualified at LSU right now, it doesn't seem beneficial to him waiting another year to possible get into Bama or not.

I'm sure these kids are being told about all this by LSU, too. We can hope, at least.
