On3
On NW site:
2023 Redshirt Sophomore:
Played in all 13 games and made 11 starts, serving as the starting right tackle the final 11 games of the season

Looks like he can play OT or G

WE ARENT TAKING 2 TACKLES. That's the whole point

Notice I said if. I don’t think we will either but if we did that would tell me a lot. We have players that should be ready to go by now. I think we take a tackle and center.

Yeah he played tackle and guard at northwestern. He's versatile. He can play guard or tackle and kick arse which is why they are going after him I'm sure.

At some point if you have to develop ur own guys. You don’t need to grab 2 tackles, likely just one. We have 4-5 other tackles on the roster that were highly recruited - you don’t think 1 can start next season?

How did you enjoy Chester’s year of development?

You really want to do that at tackle in Nuss’ senior year?

You build the best roster possible and let the chips lie where they die. Roster development is now secondary to roster management.

Says he is 6'4" 290 lbs. That seems kind of small for a tackle in the SEC. He must be very athletic. I also have always felt like OL who need to add weight end up being much better than OL who need to lose weight

Seriously? Body composition means a whole lot when talking about a person's height and weight. If he is 6'4" and 290 lbs of muscle and has very little fat while being quick, explosive and strong as a mofo, then I would take that all day, everyday over some guy that's 6'7" and 320 with 70 lbs of it being fat.

He has been a tackle and a guard in the big 10...which is know for being a heavy line of scrimmage league. His size didn't seem to hurt him in that conference and that's obvious.

I understand Moore and adding Fa'amoe... but d@mn, they going to run off the highly touted HS kids they signed. These kids aren't sitting around for 2 or 3 seasons anymore. Soloman already has one foot out the door with his signing day comment.

*Weston Davis & Tyree Adams should be your Tackles
*Plug Moore in at Center if you sign him.
*Move Chester to Guard.
*Soloman & Curne are Top 5 IOL signees
*Bo Bordelon, Mubenga, Miller, Brett Bordelon or reserves

The great Bob Sugar said “it ain’t show friends it’s show business”

We are clearly going all in on this year. We have a senior QB with a full SEC slate of experience.

If they are the 5 star can’t miss guys that they think they are come in and earn the spot.

Campbell did it.

Jones did it.

If they aren’t ready though Kelly ain’t got the time to punt on another year.

He’s pushing his chips in. I respect it.

The 6-4, 290 is from an old recruiting profile. The official 2024 Northwestern roster has Thompson at 6-5, 301.

So you are saying we need two starting offensive tackles in the portal? Solely bc both tackles are leaving - I agree you need some proven o line in the portal but there are 4-5 guys already on our roster highly recruited that will be in their second through third year in the program next season.

I would expect some young OL to hit the portal after spring practice b/c they darn sure are not hanging around to be developed.

High School recruiting seems pointless to me. I think the 2023 class is a sign of things to come. Also, LSU's hit rate in the portal is impressive. Much higher than high school. I can't imagine the coaches want to recruit those high school kids anymore.

If LSU had the money, I honestly believe they would buy a new team every year and just avoid recruiting high school athletes.

LSU has plenty of young and talented, but inexperienced OL. That’s not what they need. They need guys with starting experience to bridge the gap until the young guys are ready.

What’s the long holdup with Moore if he’s already committed supposedly?

It’s taking twice as long with him as any of the other guys to make the announcement.

Auburn just signed two OT's...one from USC and one from VT
We need to get into that game as strong as we have in the receiver game.

If they’re good enough then they’ll play over the transfers

Catering to kids who haven’t played a down is how you keep going 8-4.
