If the money is even I’d assume he ends up at Tennessee to reunite with Knowles.
Which means we’d have to over pay. Even with $30 million war chest not sure we can afford to overpay with all the holes that need to be plugged.

Do you mind elaborating on why he is so highly rated when the stats don’t match up? Did he look great before getting hurt or something?

So you’re agreeing he’s worth 2mil?
Depends on your budget. How much are you spending on edge, and one that is potentially a star, not a guaranteed one?
Everyone at PSU thought he was an Ohio State lock with him being an Ohio kid + he was being friendly with their staff after they beat us.
If he is talking to LSU and Tennessee, then it may just be a highest bidder situation. Campbell apparently made him a great offer but he knew he could get better elsewhere.

Not even close but keep going.

Yeah you hit the nail on the head. True freshman where the athleticism pops off the screen. Not much production at all but watching the games it's clear that he is a future star. Franklin didn't like giving young guys snaps so he just doesn't have the reps.
He basically sat himself out after we lost to OSU and the writing was on the wall that he was leaving.

I don’t disagree. But we also need a handful of oline, receivers, probably 2 QBs, another safety, etc etc.
If he costs $2MM, what’s the 2nd or 3rd best edge guy cost? And is it worth it to target them instead of having to overpay for number 1 and spread the cash out.

I appreciate the reply. Sucks to lose young guys you had high hopes for.

Yeah man neighboring states are “not even close”

North Carolina and Maryland are the neighboring states but keep going, I'm enjoying this banter.

There have been a few all time greats out of here, but any good Louisiana team would destroy the best teams here.
Iverson, Lawrence Taylor, Kenny Easley, Plaxico Burress and that Florida Gator that had the migraine trouble was the #1 player in the country about 2008 are from here. His name escapes me. He played for the Vikings and Seahawks. I'm forgetting others.
New Orleans and Louisiana as a whole are way better as far as recruiting though.

Percy Harvin. He went to Landstown. Graduated HS in 2006. They also had Damon McDaniel who went to FSU (he was #6 WR in the nation).
Got their shite pushed in against Oakton in the VA State Championship.
