And a list of other schools'?

I don't spend a lot of time on this board, and maybe no list exists at this point, but I am see a few posts saying we can't compete.

I find that hard to believe based on the fact that we were able to compete when the advantage was paying for a top head coach.

Throw a turd on the wall and you'll get your answer to the question. Nobody but total insiders knows...

Not a dumb question. Next year schools will share $20.5M with athletes, to be divided up as they see fit across all teams. Beyond that, the limit does not exist - it’s up to boosters, collectives, etc and they can do whatever they want as independent entities.

Starting next year there will be somewhat of a legitimate cap

The collectives are gone after this year. People with money can sign a kid to a deal to do promotional stuff, but school collectives are now gone. I think the revenue share number is 21 mill max per year, and that 21 is based across all sports.

Lot of insiders say that schools with money are about to go all out in burning through the rest of the collective money before this goes into effect next summer. That's one of the reasons why Kelly said they are going to be aggressive in the portal.

Kelly, among other SEC conferences coaches, mentioned the cap being 20-22 million beginning in 25. Number is based on tv revenue. Doesn't mean teams won't exceed that cap but that's the baseline to settle the SEC member schools portion of the overall pie. Each conference is different based on tv revenue.

To locate LSU’s “cap” amount, it is possible to retrieve information from related websites such as LINK / or some other websites containing olographic sports employees’ annual pay, which… For a list of other schools, I’m not certain there’s a place where everything is compiled, but you might try finding articles or reports of other sites like ESPN or SB Nation that have a school by school listing.

If you're referring to when BK said cap in his presser, he wasn't actually talking aobut a cap. He was referring to the money they had set aside that didn't get used last offseason/this coming offseason.

it is a capped amount that the school’s can use to pay athletes. Donors can still make NIL deals.
Some schools wont reach the cap. For example, if a school has 30million in revenue, 20 million in costs they will only have 10 million for athletes.

I guess I am referring to a budgeted amount that should be close to the total sum of the LSU Football players earnings (NIL, Revenue Share, etc) in the 2025 season.

And boosters will continue to illegally pay recruits and their families under the table like has been done for decades to circumvent this "cap".

Which is why this "poor exploited college players" line has always been ABSOLUTE bullshite, at least in the two major sports that operate in the black nationally.

The best players always got paid handsomely under the table. Nobody was ever forced to play the game. Every scholarship player was compensated between 50-100k (based on tuition, room and board). Now we have close to total chaos.

So one way to pay the players is capped (through the school) but NIL donor can operate outside that amount set for the school) ?

Yes. But collectives will be gone. Right now universities are pooling big donor money into a collective. That will be gone but big donors can still do deal independently
