re: OU gets two more futurecasts for Tristan Leigh

We should expect better. If we had a great coach who actually had EXPERTISE in something like offense, QB development etc then we’d have a lot better chance.
After watching Finley last night you might want to go get in a hole. I remember last year all the people bashing this kid for his completion numbers. It seems Coach E developed him pretty well EVEN WITHOUT SPRING AND WITH COVID. You are nothing but a whiner. I bet you whined last year we didn't win pretty or something stupid. Bashing the staff for this year is ignorant considering what we lost to the nfl and opt outs.

I have to admit I did not see that performance coming from Finley. He more than exceeded my expectations. He will likely get the nod vs AU if Brennan still not 100% and if he can stack another performance anywhere close to last night then LSU really has something.
The biggest thing to me wasn’t the physical tools. Anyone could see that. It was his command, demeanor, and then of course accuracy for a first start. Very, very impressive.
Hats off to the Offensive coaches, the Oline, the RB’s, and the WR’s too. They all stepped up.

I don't know any of these dudes and how reliable they are

Either there’s concern or they’re chugging that Mikey F. Kool-aid. It was mentioned last week that the 247 guys have us as leaders.

I haven't used Rivals in years but it doesn't add up. Mike F has switched back and forth on Leigh.

If coach O isn't going to bring in great innovative minds, why should these elites play for LSU? that's a rhetorical question
Well we just put up 52 points with a true FR QB in his first start and had 275 yards rushing.
So there's that. There's also a Joe Moore Winning OL coach on staff and we just sent at least 2 OL to the NFL that are starting as rookies. So there's that as well.

Joe moore but point still stands.
Think this game helps with leigh.
It steadied the ship.
He also talked about other players committing and that he follows it.
Would be nice if we could get a big fish to commit

Damn this would be legitimately devastating loss. We brought in thin OL classes in 2019 and 2020, so we kind of needed an OL-heavy class in 2021. Bringing in only ONE offensive lineman in 2021 would be an absolute unmitigated disaster--the type of thing that has the potential to set a program back for years, a la Florida State. Leigh has the potential to mitigate a lot of that just by being a very likely stud, but really the bigger issue is just depth, and losing Leigh would hurt badly from that perspective. Imo we absolutely NEED at LEAST one additional OL in this class even with Leigh--so missing here would really, really hurt, even just from a depth perspective. This is easily our biggest must-get in the current class imo. I hope we can turn around this oklahoma momentum.

I really dont get where any of the OU love is coming from on rivals with Leigh. What do they apparently know nobody else does? He visited there for their big recruiting weekend, and didnt go back. He visited here for our big recruiting weekend and came back immediately with his girlfriend to scope out places.
He skipped out on visiting Ohio State's big recruiting weekend this past weekend.
Why would they be leading us, it just makes no sense. Has he made some secret visit to OU since that big recruiting weekend?
Nobody except 1 OU insider on 247 has Oklahoma in the lead right now (and his CB pick was made back in May, and he is <50% all time on his picks) while there's this huge OU surge on Rivals

Rivals is hit or miss, 24/7 is more consistent. I trust 24/7 just because I know those people and they are usually less trigger happy. The 24/7 pick just makes sense right now due to what's happened in the past, well see.

I agree we need OL, but we have some good young talent on roster. Bradford, Kardell, Xavier Hill and Dumervill should all be starting quality players next season to go along with our returning OL.

Me trying to understand it:

Like the dudes I posted above they're not anyone that's in the know about things. Mike has flipped back and forth so many times. The futurecast seems like shite because they can change it at anytime and it's not a % based system it's just if you're right or wrong whatever the time period.

I am obviously no insider, but I still think he signs with us. Think we still lead by a good bit. Not sure where these rivals guys are getting their info. from though.'
Still need a lot more OL even if we do get Leigh. Other than Byrd, not sure who else we're gonna get or are even going after. Maybe the Florida State guard we offered recently?
