With the recent rash of decommitments so close to early signing it should be a “strong” sign that we have a lot of silent commitments.

Think about it look at these decommitments and realize how many kids do this without prompting by the staff 2 weeks before signing?

So if the staff is telling these kids to go elsewhere this close to signing they must have some really strong silents that are committing and signing in two weeks!

I am getting really stoked to hear some jaw dropping names committing, I think we can pretty sure put two in that bucket with “Evans & Dumerville” it is kind of already out there they are silents. So that a great start can’t wait to hear the rest of the names when they commit.

But I do see why people are nervous, we have been burned in the past with last minute or silent commitments that were supposed to happen but never did.

Trust the process, no pun intended.

everyone realizes this

its just being nervous about getting burned on "silent commitments" that makes some uneasy

I think it's been "reported" by enough people at this point to 100% believe we do have several silent. I'm not worried about this class.

Something about a 17 year old saying he wants to come but doesnt want to tell people doesnt sit well though.

they just want to enjoy a special moment, it's really not that big a deal. i don't mean any offense by this but adult men getting so worked up over it is what shouldn't sit well honestly, it's really strange how much flack these kids get.

I may be wrong, to me it's very easy to understand why they would do that. Could you imagine the pressure they'd get by everyone in their circle, other schools and the public in general if they choose the "wrong" school. I can understand keeping it quiet until the decision cant be changed.

In what world is LSU the wrong school at Northshore? I'm picking on Evans here but that certainly isnt the case.

I understand North shore is a big feeder for LSU, but I'm sure Jimbo and aTm has their people in his ear nonstop

This is 100% correct. It’s been said tons of times. Many OOS recruits catch hell when committing out of state. Fans can be assholes sometimes.
This fanbase is no exception

LSU isn’t but that might not be the case with Evans. He is a top 10 recruit in the country that means that there is immense pressure to stay in state. So if committing OOS it is easier for the recruit to wait until the absolute last minute that way he won’t have to deal with the crap he will catch for going OOS.

I'd love to get Evans, but not optimistic.

Reading board insider posts, suggests Evans is playing games and saying one thing/doing another. Would become a first Rounder in our new offense, but looks like other schools are backing the Wells Fargo truck up.

I agree. I'm not as concerned as most seem to be with guys being "silent commits" The staff are the only ones that need to know and I think most of the time the only reason guys stay silent is because the have a signing ceremony at school or have a particular time they want to announce. These guys like the spot light and there isn't a thing wrong with that, they've earned it. It's also cool for the family and school involved. Think about it, if Jordan Burch came out today and said "I'm signing with LSU on 12/18", then no ESPN cameras at the school, no big ordeal of the spotlight and the suspense of a big selection. Let them have their moment and trust our coaches. We will know soon enough and Coach O has undoubtedly earned the benefit of the doubt.
