Did you ever see Alan Fanaca play at LSU? He was great at LSU and was considered the best guard in the NFL for over 5 years.

LSU hasnt recruited the type of guys who have good character or were smart enough to keep their **** together for 4 years of college.

Look at all the transfers and suspensions. Look at the kids getting in trouble with the law. Look at all the projects we have taken on that didnt pan out.

Im not trying to sounds racist of anything but I honestly think we need to only recruit big farm kids from Wisconsin.

LSU needs to open up some kind of OL pipeline to the Midwest and northern states for tackles for sure. We can usually find decent guards down south but the tackles we are looking for or need are usually found up north. Idk how we do it but we should be giving it hell at some point in the near future IMO.

We gotta bring in a JUCO tackle or two. A grad transfer or something like that would be awesome too

It's a must. The JUCO route is realistic and attainable. Gotta make it happen or we'll be saying the same thing about the OL next season...

Lael collins, cam robinson, greg robinson....theyre here too we just have to get them to get on board! Green, Thomas and Hines is a superb start to our future trenches.

This is my issue. LSU needs to reach out for offensive lineman. Louisiana just doesn't produce enough talent at this position to keep us competitive. We need some pipelines.

We've gotten quite a few from Texas, just need to keep hitting it up and recruiting it hard. Basically any Texas OL without the last name of Matthews we should have a shot with.

Weathersby (2015)
Teuhema (2015)
Ingram (2017)
Deculus (2017)
Hines (2018)
Green (2019)

Well if Grimes isn't working out then LSU should go find the best darn OL recruiter possible who has ties to these areas and knows all these schools and coaches up there. Either that or Grimes needs to strap on his LSU gear and get his butt in that purple and gold jet to make waves up there. Bring the best recruiters with him. O, Canada, and Grimes get up there and go get some smart tackles. We need to make some end roads up there start battling the Wisconson's for great OLman. Something has to change

Yes but it sure wouldn't hurt to start going up north to try creating some buzz for LSU. We aren't going to always be successful in TX or down south so they need to start going all over to build relationships with people. The lines are worth the effort IMO. Looks like we have the DL figured out so it time to go fight for the best OLman we can possibly get to protect these future "championship" QBs we have now on the roster. We can fight the Iowa's, Michigan States, Wisconsins, Nebraska's of the world for their OLman.

It's not as easy as just sending a current staff member a certain somewhere and selling the program. These guys have locations they are assigned. The guy(s) in Texas just need to step their game up a bit. Potentially Florida too. PLENTY of good OL recruits in those 2 states alone. Texas has 6 4-star OL recruits this year and it's a weak year for them. Florida has 8 4-star OL recruits and IMG is loaded every year we could poach from.

It's that easy if LSU wants it to be. Like I said I think it's worth the extra time, money, and effort to change things up a little at least until we are making head way in that area. It's the area LSU has needed to shore up for a while. QB and OL.

I think Os job depends on it so they need to identify different areas if what they are doing isn't working. I'm all for hitting TX, and FL harder but that has been our tactics for a while now, why hasn't anything changed?

We have one of the best managers in the country who got the number (1) MLB in the country to flip late so maybe it's going to take him going find guys then have them come visit DV on a big game day to change hearts and minds of some young OLman. Idk but LSU really needs to make that area it's priority like they did for the LBs when Aranda showed up. I'm sure they're aware themselves and are on it but the priority bar just went way up.

We now have open slots all over the OL so let's fill those gaps with that 1st round talent Orgeron was talking about when he said that's what we need to compete with Bama.

Now's the time so let's go all in this year and next to fill that depth chart up with smart, big, athletic, OLman who want to be the OL who helps jump start this Championship run LSU is heading on.

I have a feeling that they want to get this season started before they really hit the recruiting hard like they did at the end last year. I just know this thing isn't over. I just hope our OL stays healthy enough to make that all happen. GT

Everyone is looking for the 6'5" and taller tackle. IMO, the emergence of the lightning fast, 240 lb DE/OLB will change the requirement for a huge OT.

Regardless of what you mean to sound like, your assumption that non-"Midwest" players are criminals, who lack intelligence and character clearly reveal your vile racism. For those who view the world through racist glasses like you and Semjackass (BRAVEHEART) who also prefers "up north" linemen, how does Lael Collins, Vadel Alexander, Joe Barksdale, Jerald Hawkins, Trai Turner fit in your Turner Dairies? Each of which is a current NFL offensive lineman.

Who are those O_linemen "getting in trouble with the law"? Did you make that up or in your racist world they had to all be thugs and breaking the law? List those you are talking about. Like the normal racist you paint the whole by the bad actions of the few. In turn, you overlook and dismiss the positive acts of many to justify your racism.

And for the record, anyone claiming they are not trying to sound racist, inevitablt they just made a racist statement and is a bonafide racist.

I think kardell is #1 guard, green #1 tackle, and hines #1 center, traore #1 juco lineman so at least we are trying. Throw in cole smith, camerom wire and a couple more and we are on the path to dominance!

I like all these OL listed but there is (1) OT mentioned that is now looking around. All I'm saying is for LSU to open up new avenues where these guys seem to be plentiful and what you look for in lineman. It's not a secret that some of the best OL especially OTs come from the northern states or Midwest. Its not racist at all its opening up options for LSU.

Continue to recruit our areas but why not find new places, schools, areas, known to produce outstanding lineman. That way if we miss on one guy we have others seriously considering LSU. It's a numbers game. The OL is the most important position along with QBs which a championship team is built on. If we open up more options, we will end up with the numbers and lineman we want/need.

I think its worth the extra time, money and effort to go far and wide to find the best especially at these two positions. If we are successful it will be the catalyst to the championship. Win a championship and watch the interest, money, recruits, and everything else that follows it pour in. Well worth the extra time or money IMO. Crazy thought I know.

I think it's safe to assume that there are many of our commits that are "committed but still looking around". And I'm sure there are many commits to other schools who are still considering LSU. All the talk about Green flipping back in the beginning of July made it seem like it was imminent. But after reading his statements a few weeks ago, I think he's just as solid as anyone. And that his mindset is really no different than any other recruit. He just said it all out loud.

He wants to come to LSU, but he's got to make sure the new staff can get the job done building the team and getting results on the field. Hell, he even said that wins and losses don't even totally matter it's more about how we play.

If we shite the bed this season, we will lose recruits. If we kill it (my belief) we will keep recruits. Simple as that.
