2013-2014 refers to the academic year and the signing class of 2013. The 2014 signing class will enroll in the Fall of 2014 for the 2014-2015 academic year.
You're way off here. There is absolutely no way he counts against the 2014 class. And
we currently only have 23 initial counters for 2012.

we're at 22 initial counters before bolden...23 with. You don't have an option of when you count him.
if thats true (which i hav no reason to belive its not) then we'll definitely either have nonqualifiers or kids will have ther offers pulled, prolly both. this was a bad use of schol imo

I have no idea how you can come to that conclusion based on the comment you quoted

Is bolden Transferring or not? Do we definitely know yet?
No it's not official. All we know is that he came to visit this weekend and everyone on this website started freaking out

What do we lose by getting him?
Nothing...he might work out and then again, he might not. Pretty much like any other guy who comes in.
He probably will see little to no time this coming season.
It's much to do bout nothing.
We DO lose alot of reps that would go towards another developing a younger guy

So no teams can develop younger guys when there are 4 QBs on scholarship?

Aww Jesus. This shite gets thrown around wayyyyy to often. The kid started at QB as a Freshman at PSU. Is he an all-american? Of course not. Is LSU better in 2012 and 2013 because he is on the team? Yes, most definitely.

As I pointed out on the thread on the rant, check out this tidbit.

On the Hoof: Has excellent height, long arms and an athletic, basketball-player build. He could easily end up playing at 225 pounds and still keep his impressive athleticism. He physically will remind fans of LSU’s Jordan Jefferson.

Dont be "that guy" and act like a dumb frick just for the sake of arguing.
FACT...if he takes reps, they would have gone to someone else which makes their developement go faster. Especially if it is second qb reps which is game preparation reps instead of running a scout team.
Your smartass comments dont mean shite and show you dont know a thing about sports.

Dude hasn't enrolled or stated his intentions to. All he did was visit, much like the UT qb in January. We need to pump the brakes.

not necessarily, if you don't have to worry about being game ready every week you can focus practice time on improving fundamentals. This is one thing that killed Lee in 08, every week was spent trying to piece a game plan together for the next game. They didn't really have time to go back to basics and work on the fundamental flaws in his game.

I don't care whether the young guys (Randall, Rivers) lose reps or not. We need to win football games this year, and having only RS freshmen to throw to the wolves of SEC defenses if your starter goes down is a recipe for disaster. We tried that with Jefferson/Lee (although there is clearly no equating that year's original starter to this year's starter).
It is extremely difficult to make it through the SEC slate without getting your QB dinged up at some point. IMO, Randall and Rivers are not yet ready to step in as the starting QB for a national championship contender and take snaps in crunch time against SEC first team defenses, when Mett goes down. And your back-up QB needs to be that guy. I think they are better off sitting and practicing for another year and having one of the two get some mop-up time game experience as a 3d string QB. Frankly, Mettenburg - for all his talent - is going to face a difficult baptism against conference opponents this year. SEC game speed, intensity and pressure are not the same as practice. Mett's just physically and mentally better prepared to face that challenge than our two RS freshmen.
Bolden may not be the long term solution, but if we get him, I'll feel alot better about our QB depth for this year. Not taking anything away from the young guys; SEC defenses are just too difficult for freshmen/RS freshmen to excel against. And if one of them beats out Bolden in practice, then he should get the second team snaps. Until then, having someone with game experience behind center when Mett gets knocked down (and it WILL happen at some point this year) can be the difference between us making it back to MNC game and hanging out in Jerry World in January talking about the great young QBs that we'll have in future years.
