Odds this is how we finish the 2014 class and would it meet all our needs?

B.Harris
L.Fournette
S.Noil
S.Blacknall
M.Dupree
T.Quinn
G.Willis
D.Godchaux
D.Clark
G.Mcdowell
T.Valentine
C.Garrett
K.Young
T.Brown
H.Jones
(D.Williams)

I'd be pretty darn happy, except for the lack at RB and missing CRob.

You forgot Battle and Michael Johnson. Without Johnson, we don't get Valentine I think

well I sure hope thats how we finish.

would love to have C Rob too, but if we get all these and miss out on him I'd be pretty damn happy.

would be the best class I can remember I think

ETA: I think we will miss out on Young, but I have no basis for that, just a feeling

Switch Young out for Michael Johnson or Battle. I also think that Hootie or Johnson will grow into a OLB and take Raheed's spot which is why I think we are pursuing Battle, Johnson and Hootie when we already have Voohries on board.

I don't see young in this class unless we miss on Garrett.

one is 190 and the other covers like a cb at one of our biggest positions of need, neither will play olb

Lack of scouting by the recruiting services. He will be a mid-to-high 4 star by season's end. Like Rashard Robinson last year

The more film I watch on K. Young I can't believe how good he is. Technically sound, mean, and a play maker.

I could see Young coming in if Raheed decommits. Some sources have said that he isn't high on LSU because we aren't pressing for his commitment. I ultimately believe Raheed does commit to the Gumps opening the door for Kenny Young.

I think the staff will take 2 backs this year but in 2015 you have Brossette and Guice who are both going to end up at LSU.

I don't think Garrett, Willis, Young, or Valentine will be a part of this class.

What is you reasoning for not having Garrett, Willis and
Young?

Garrett

Just a hunch. He seems to like everywhere he goes. He's adamant that he's taking all 5 official visits.

I think it's foolish to consider an elite prospect from Illinois a lock at this stage in his recruitment.

Willis

I think he'll end up at Bama with his brother (I know they are not in his current top 3). LC is going to see the field a lot this year and barring a screw up they'll play for another title.

Young

Seems to be a lack of interest on both sides.

I like.

Unlike some people, I think we get Young and Garrett. Young is an OLB, while Garrett is a MLB. Wont be playing the same position. Plus, I dont think Sharieff Rhaheed signs with us, so that will open up an OLB spot. Sure, Garrett has pretty much liked every school hes been, but have you ever really heard about a recruit who didnt like what he saw when he visited a school with top notch facilities? I never have. The 1 reason why i think were ahead of everyone with him is that weve been his consesus #1 for a while now. He will say how he likes this school or that school, then someones asks him who his favorite is. Its always LSU.

Willis will be a tiger. Perfect fit for a DE in the 4 man front we run. Plus, he lives in New Orleans with his Mom, who is all LSU. Also, he could be playing college ball potentially with 3 or 4 guys from Karr in Noil, Anthony Jones, Donnie Alexander, etc.

1 guy that is just hard to read for me is Trey Quinn. I know a lot of people say hes all LSU, but just a tough read on him. Plus, the WR numbers are going to be tight the rest of the way out. Dupree and Noil are both takes, no matter what. That puts us at 4. Then, you have Blacknall, Williams, and Quinn. Cant take all 7. Turns into a numbers game and I have no clue whats gonna happen. Yes, Williams is most likely a 1 and done, but still 7 in 1 class is ridiculous. Plus, all are damn good. Will be very interesting to see how it turns out.

I don't think LSU takes a second RB in this class unless they steal a top-shelf prospect who is already committed to another program.

However, in Cam Cameron's offense, I can see Jeryl Brazil and Speedy Noil lining up in multiple positions. If Jeryl can bulk up to 195-200 pounds without losing speed, he might become a fairly conventional RB...albeit very fast. Imagine Michael Ford but faster and with more wiggle.
