Nothing is going to change in the Transfer Portal

It's just going to be worse. If we don't have the money now then you forget about being in the bidding wars of the transfer portal. The TP is a live auction of players who are unhappy about how much money they have at their current school. You think the best players in the TP aren't gonna be demanding a million plus per year.
Prepare for another underwhelming group of transfers that we have to settle for.

I agree. We saw this last year with the 3 DT’s we wined and dined only for them to demand millions for one season even though they were borderline starting quality

Transfer portal recruits are more expensive than high school recruits. If you can’t keep high school commits you damn sure aren’t getting anybody of significance out of the portal.

It appears LSU made the right decision, seems you would be happy about that.
Are you suggesting that paying for undeserving players was the better choice?

This is why all the BK BS about being very aggressive in the portal doesn't mean crap.
The top NIL school aren't just going to sitting out the Transfer Portal window. It's going to be the same ole story. We will get ex top players coming off injuries that they never recover from, or the graduate transfer with experience but lacks the talent to compete. We will get a slew of those guys after the top guys go to schools who pay out.

Yep we will get Wisconsin and Syracuse backups, D3 depth pieces, and injured fringe players from the big schools. The BK recipe.
The same people flipping our recruits and other schools recruits right now will be the same schools out bidding us in the portal as usual.

If you read I agreed with the OP, the TP is no different than high school recruiting and I sited those 3 players as examples.
BK did the smart thing and said go kick rocks as Paez and Suggs who I’m sure cost way less and probably out performed those 3 which I’m sure had more to do with Bo Davis’s coaching than anything.
