Isn’t he a grades risk?

LSU wanted Pooka but Pooka and his mother liked Kansas and what it had to offer. Bad grades was also a factor.

we just cant risk a spot on pooka. it sux, but its his own undoing. with the early signing period now in effect, kids better have their stuff in order. we're already at 18 and we NEED the people left in nola recruiting article that was linked yesterday. he's dynamic and would be a nice piece, but this isn't a fournette, Michael clayton, Marquise hill, Andrew whitworth type situation. hate to diminish his hs career, but he's not worth the risk as we crunch the numbers, imo.

Kansas is willing to risk the spot to get him qualified. LSU has other options for that spot and can’t afford the risk. With the rule change, you don’t get that spot back if the player doesn’t qualify.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck why couldn't he just wait so we could make sure he made his grades? Why does he want to sign early?

My guess would be, and this may be completely wrong, but he probably does not have the grades but doesn't want to go the JUCO right. Kind of a short sided decision.

Juco is a good option for him. Its a pride thing for some kids to not want juco but grades get in order, he wrecks shop for a year, and in 2019 goes to a school with a decent program instead of losing 9 games a year and watching basketball in the snow.

Wish it had worked out but we need the spot for one of the DBs we need. Numbers always leave someone out

Pooka is a gigantic grade risk. There’s no guarantee that he even qualifies for Kansas. LSU could not take the risk and miss on signing a running back

How was he allowed to play high school football if his grades are so bad? What about high school eligibility rules?

I’m sure he meets the bare minimum with some help. As far as NCAA eligibility? Doubt it. Kinda reminds me of Isiah McKenzie of last chance U without all the social issues

Why were so many acting like he was a real possibility if he was a known grade risk?
