Jake ruined his potential by following his brother around the country

He was in the same class as Mason Taylor and much higher ranked. If there’s was one thing Kelly could develop it was TEs. Jake probably cost himself millions and an NFL future with his terrible decision.

I saw Max Johnson on campus the Covid year when we were both in our first year. He has traveled the globe since

Ehh. At this point they've probably both realized the NFL dream is dead. Might as well go somewhere where they can actually play together.

People are going to look back on this 3 years later when Kiffin has created 2 heisman contenders and Jayden Daniels has won an MVP, and Nuss has become a respectable player (trust me, I've seen this play before with QBs who fell off late in college and after years in the NFL, started succeeding), and finally big man Burrow has an MVP and/or SB win under his belt, and wonder, "Why in the HELL, did Max Johnson ever leave LSU?

Of the 6356 yards and 49 TDs in his career, 3883 yards and 35 TDs of them came from 1.5 years of playing for LSU. Since leaving LSU, he has had 2473 yards and 14 TDs in 4 years. It was the first and only time a starting player from LSU transfered to play for somebody else, unless you count Sage Ryan. Yes he looked more pedestrian without Boutte, but that whole team had problems, which is why Ed had to go. We were pissed at him, but as long as he developed the next year, nobody would care. Had he played in that bowl game, his final stat line would have likely been 3100 yards 30 TDs 6 ints. He could have played 2 more years for Kelly and that elite receiving talent we had. Did you see Mason Taylor? What could his brother have done here?

He and his brother are going to be the biggest "what ifs" offensively for LSU after our Renaissance of QB play started back in 2019.

Max will be 25 next Summer. (Born before 9/11, FYI.)

no issue with the portal and capitalizing on a better opportunity but situations like these two are pathetic.

How is Max still eligible?

COVID year, plus a redshirt, plus a medical waiver.

Interesting fact: Max has played in fewer games than Nuss.

Jake Johnson actually has potential. He needs to stop following Max around and go to a program where he can thrive. He had 24 receptions and 4 td’s last year at A&M.

Jake usually only has receptions when it’s his brother throwing too. Total bust. Max should reunite with TJ Finley.
