We are sitting at #5, we moved to 3, after Taylor commitment, moved back to 5 after Mathews Dec. After Emery’s commitment we stayed at 5 but a strong 5, 2 or so points behind #3 and #4 and they have more commitments than us. We can still move into top 3 with a strong finish, anything inside top 5 is awesome it’s usually a player or two’s rankings are higher, plus we have a K, who ranks as a 3*, but 5* as Ks go. (#2 K). I have faith that we end up in top 3, but as usual #1 and #2 will likely be Oh St, Bama, and Georgia, battling it out. We could end up 4 but still great class. Now those are the numbers but we have addressed the OL and S (last class). BUT PLEASE Baby Jesus make Jacoby come back to the Tigahs!!!!

We're trending towards a top 5 class again, just need to close law, Wiggins, Tapp, Preston, Thomas, 1 out of state OT, and like you said bring matthews back into the fold. An elite kicker as we saw last year wins you games, and score no points as you mentioned, and 2nd te was a must being depleted there.

5 months until signing day, and whole season will happen before that. As long as we flip the bad season to looking like lsu again, class will finish very strong. Huge pitch to this 2022 class is all of the seniors and juniors that will be leaving. We're potentially replacing starting 2 rbs, all 5 offensive lineman with a good year, all starting 4 defensive lineman (assuming Anthony, gaye, farrell , logan, even though Roy, Mason, ojulari may be the more talented and earn those starting reps), Mike Jones/ baskerville / Clarke at lb, stingley, Harris. The depth chart is wide open for 2022 season for current freshman, and this 2022 clasa to make huge impacts

So true. Why wouldn’t game winners have stars? Doesn’t make sense.

I agree, the rating system for punters should be changed, or don't rate them at all!

Not to downplay Matthews bc he's a star and hope we get him back, but adding an elite interior OL (by most accounts) recruit is a bigger deal. We recruit safety and CB well so I'm not as concerned. Solidifying our OL is a must.

I think LSU is trending for J'mond Tapp, Quency Wiggins, Kendrick Law, Shazz Preston, and hopefully Le'veon Moss will eventually flip back to the good guys.

I've heard that LSU believes they will also probably get A. Thomas, Harold Perkins, and Evan Stewart. With Omari Abor, Denver Harris, Anthony Lewis, and Julian Armella all still in play.

I also believe that Jacoby Mathews will eventually catch his head and come back to LSU.

LSU may (I hate to call it) process one or two recruits to make room if it has to.

Sounds good first paragraph, but everything after that is “wishing “

It makes perfect sense. Do you think our kicker will be a first round draft choice? No? Well, that rules out a 5 start, because 5 stars is a first round projection. Four stars means he is projected to play professionally. Now, after seeing him in college, I’d re-rank him as a four star, but after high school? No.

LSU was the feel good story of 2019. Covid and departures stubbed our toes in reaping the full rewards that come from winning a National Championship, but memories of 2019 haven't completely faded out of player's thoughts.

Win big on the field this year and all will be fine. Players love playing at LSU and generate that "family feeling" which doesn't necessarily exist everywhere. Remember how much work the 2019 players did on their own to accomplish what they did. It'll take that same effort and lets hope that has already been invested by the 2021-22 team.

COVID is not an excuse for the crap Orgeron served up last year.
