Deep Snapper is an important position.

This kid will come in and start for 4 years.

I'll take it.

I'm fine with it. The only time you seem to notice the long snappers is when you don't have a good one. Not a wasted scholarship at all if he gives us four years of solid play.

How many deep snappers have we given scholarships to under Les? Gotta be 3-4 now

He was some weird infatuation with them and tight ends, for whatever reason

That Highlight film is up there with Shawn Jordan's as the best I've ever seen.

he's the third. first pure deep snapper. les just puts as much importance on special teams as any other phase of the game. i give him credit for that. that's being attentive to detail. he's giving ships to punters, fg's, and deep snappers. one thing i can say is our special teams has been as good under les than any point in tiger football history.

i guess, i wouldnt say it's been significantly better than is the saban era though

you still have wonder if this is a good year to give a snapper a scholarship considering the low numbers

Our starting deep snapper is graduating after this season. Tell me when is it a better time to offer a good deep snapper.

Let's just roll the dice on a walk-on in-state or convert someone on the team to deep snapper and pray for it to work out. When we start losing games because the ball consistently skips to the punter or goes over his head, we can send Miles packing.

oh, i guess reid ferguson is a savior then

hold an open tryout for kids in the area and region and you'll find someone who deep snap. it's what 95% of the programs around the country do

You don't think the staff knows what's already available in LA? Maybe Les and the new special teams coach doesn't think there is another Joey Crappell to be had in-state this year.

considering it's only june, they probably do not know the talents of every snapper in the state and certainly not in the region

Tennessee and a number of other schools have offered so it's not like this kid is a nobody and Les probably felt that this is his opportunity to lock one up who may be the best in the country than to let him become a Vol. This one also happens to be a teammate of Vadal Alexander. There is a specialist camp at LSU on July 23 and I assume Ferguson will be there. This will showcase how good our new long snapper will be in the near future.
