Batts would be a good addition and already has Wades stamp of approval. Reminds me a lot of Josh Selby.
After watching his videos, I'd love to have Batts here

Super excited about this year. It could be the best basketball season in years

Braun's game is fun to watch. He's aggressive to the rim, and he's got a lot of quickness and explosion.
The film is here.
Blue Valley Northwest is the same high school Ben Richardson and Clayton Custer went to - those are the two kids who went off for Loyola of Chicago in the tournament. And they won the 6A title in Kansas this year. Braun's numbers (12 and 7, with 3 blocks a game) aren't crazy-good, largely because there are supposedly four college prospects on that team.
He's a program guy. He needs at least a year in the weight room, at least. They say he's 205. If he is, he's a skinny 205. He needs a good 25 pounds.
But because of that he's a very good fit for what we want. He'd be an extra body inside this year, and then a contributor next year.
Good find if Wade can pull him. Hopefully he can pull him now, because it sounds like his next visit is Arizona.

I watched his tape earlier this afternoon.
Kid has some athletic ability and offensive skill. He takes pride in his defense too from an article I read.
I can see why Wade would offer. Needs to get bigger, stronger.

I like Braun and Batts.
LSU would be the perfect spot for Braun because we don't have to have him for next year. He could have a developmental year and be poised for a big year the next when we need him.
Also, Heier has some connections in Kansas from his Wichita days. Will be interesting. Not sure if LSU is on Batts' radar. Wonder if there was some bad blood after Wade left VCU?

He has a similar size and style of play as Gordon Hayward. Hayward was 6'8 and a little over 200 at Butler. Both are tall players with an outside shot. He also has great footwork around the basket and moves very fluidly.
With 6 to 8 months of development he could also be a nice role player next season. Wonder why he has not been recruited more strongly or signed by someone? He seems like afour star and appears to be under raed. So was Vernel Singleton.

Could be he got lost in the shuffle on a good team with talent. 12/7 is never going to stick out to any college coach until they get a hold of some game tape, that game tape probably didnt start to hit until recently with the season ending not too long back.
Edit- I see he played on an AAU team last year with Jontay Porter (5-star Mizzou F this apst season), Ochai Agbaji (Kansas commit) and Malik Hall (Top 60 overall player in 2019 class); Mokan Elite mentioned below, which would also explain why he wasn't a go to guy on that team either. Just hard for him to stick out.
The fact Arizona offered is very encouraging though, an elite level team sees him as a potential contributor.

Took a deeper drive into the youtube wormhole (re: Braun). Looks as if his brother is a 2019 recruit - 6'4 combo guard who primarily plays the point in HS. Like his brother, seems to have good athleticism and feel for the game. Has offers right now from Ole Miss, Loyola-Chi, Missouri St.
Also - it seems as if both of these guys play for a really good AAU program (Mokan Elite). Could be an attempt from Heiar/Wade to pipeline into a good market for D1 prospects.

Yea, looks like he played on an awesome high school and AAU team and didn't get big numbers. He took off his senior year and started picking up attention.
Mokan Elite is one of the best AAU programs. Would be a great place to get a toehold.

I was thinking Nick Fazekas, who was another skinny white kid from Kansas City, but yeah.
The thing about Braun is last year he was 6-6 and 180, and nobody thought a kid 6-6 and 180 could be a major-college post player. Then he hit a growth spurt that might not be finished.
This is the kind of sleeper kid you want. He'd be a really good get, especially for where LSU is with this recruiting class.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl is also on that AAU team as I understand it...
EDIT: No he's not. Never mind.

Noah thomas, a preferred walk on is joining the LSU Tigers.
He held offers from SFA and Miami (OH).

Thomas can play. I posted his Hudl in the other thread.
He would have seen a pretty good bit of time on this past year's team.

John Brady recruited Fazekas hard back in 2003 and almost got him as a part of a stellar class which included Brandon Bass, Tack Minor, Ross Neltner, and Darnell Lazare. Fazekas went on to star at Nevada and Braun does have a similar playing style
I like the way he attacks the basket with great fluidity . Probably gained those skills as a shorter player and expded them as he got taller.

Anybody have DJ Burns on our radar? I saw he was added to us on Verbal Commits LINK
247 Profile
Rivals
Looks like a skinnier Brian Bridewater. Not sure if actually 6-9, but def thick. Here's a video from this spring. LINK
I'd rather Braun if we can pull him. He looks more athletic with a higher ceiling.

With Braun looking like the 12th scholly, I would love for Batts to get that final spot
