Love the choices of both. Cooper has three years of eligibility and he adds dept for this years team. I know for a fact that Arkansas wanted him badly. Since he had the required ACT score when he entered JC; he won’t have to sit out a year.

Bubba told me earlier today that Wade has him pondering a comeback.

Cooper's a terrific get. Exactly what we need for that last post spot.

I woulda preferred a big with more bulk/strength for this year, but can’t have it all.

In Wade I trust.

Bigby Williams will be a beast on the boards and shot blocking.

You have both Williams' whose primary contributions will be rebounding and interior defense. Reid, though probably to a lesser extent, can do the same and Rachal has shown he can battle on the glass and defensively. These guys are players for next year's team. Whatever they can give you this season is a bonus. LSU should be fine on the interior. Wade was always looking for a "stretch 4" type of player. It looks like Cooper can provide that.

I don't know that he's a stretch 4. I think he's a 5. He did shoot some threes for his JC team, so he might be able to give you a little of what Reath did from outside.

But this is a kid who's a late bloomer physically. They're going to put 25 pounds on him this year and when Bigby-Williams is gone he's going to be 6-10 and 235 or so with a 7'5" wingspan, and he's going to be that shotblocker and rebounder in the paint to go with Williams and Days.

He's a perfect fit.

Arkansas wanted him pretty bad.

That's exactly what I thought. I was concerned we didn't have an "athletic program Big", a guy that's in the program for several years to balance the one and dones (like Naz and, in essence, Bigby-Williams) that will cycle through too quickly. Cooper should be the guy that Kiir was supposed to be - he'll have 3 years left, just like Kiir, but he is more developed and should contribute more than Kiir would have this year.

That's a really interesting article. Arkansas was in on him earlier and it looks like we stole him away, making an offer "sight unseen." That's pretty amazing.

It's amazing that Wade was able to keep both of these so quiet in this day and age

That's what I thought, too. Arkansas was telling him he'd come in and get groomed to take over for Gafford and he ended up saying "Nah. I'd rather take over for Reid."

Which is what's perhaps most fun about this.

Crowfield loves VCU. He isn't going anywhere. His mom also loves the coaching staff.

LSU offered 2019 big man Qudus Wahab today. 6-11 235 Center from Northern Va. Ranked #73 in the country by 247 Sports. Syracuse, Clemson, UConn, Pitt, St John's have all offered. He is a double-double machine and averaged about 4 blocks per game last high school season. Solid upside. Runs the floor well. Only in the U.S. for two years. One to keep an eye on..

Kudos to Qudus, a big man indeed. Sound great and hope we can get him for 2019.
