Cap do you get Xavier Carter vibes from Harbor?

That is a name I have not heard in a long time. From taking a knee at the 1 to helping to be the downfall of Perrilloux he had an interesting career.

That's when I left Sanford Stadium to drive back to the hotel a half hour away and change out my LSU shirt to go out in Athens that night.

I think you're making a little too much about the Alabama situation. Saban is the driving force in recruiting, not the coordinators. I don't see a defensive back recruit hesitating to go to Alabama because Pete Golding might not be there.

I think the demise of Saban is being exaggerated. Sure, they're having a disappointing season, but they're still having a 10 win season and probable top 10 finish with a NY6 bowl. Most schools would kill for that kind of season and that's considered a down year for those guys.

I hope I'm wrong and this is the beginning of the end for them, but I'll have to see more than a 10-2 season to believe it.

Yep. Exactly. It's all about the quantity of content they can push out.

If you actually see my past posts, it’s quite the opposite, Alabama will win another title or two under Saban. However, while Saban is obviously the main draw, personnel are important, and retaining Golding would be a mistake. This Alabama team truly underachieved and the defense takes a MAJOR fault at that. Secondary has immense talent but has not reached its potential. Coach Kelly is a major draw for LSU, but Matt House is a significant piece that has reeled in a Harold Perkins and developed him. Eli Ricks is a top ten-fifteen talent in many NFL drafts, but man he just looks lackluster at Alabama, you would think it would raise his stock after recovering and garnering more knowledge on the playbook, but it hasn’t.

I agree with everything you say here, but don't think any of it will have an impact on their ability to recruit a defensive back. Saban was a secondary coach and defensive coordinator and stays more connected to that side of the ball.

And the secondary is becoming Bama's achilles heal. Saban may be a legend, but he's a 70 year old legend that looks more and more tired and feeble every time I see him on the field.

Steeples is a young, charismatic coach that has had good results so far. Saban is still Saban, but I think we can start chipping away at his hold on recruits.

No chance he eventually falls more in love with football once he sees the money, right?

Carter left to go run track in Europe and made some money. He got hurt and came back to Baton Rouge flush with cash. He would go out with RP and other guys just tossing cash around and getting wild.
