really the contining loss of players to Auburn from Thibodeux has been discussed on this board many many many times. The fact that NCAA is investigating this, now on Fox sports and ESPN, I thought would be of interest to an LSU recruiting board. Forgive me then

It is a recruiting story. Screw the haters.

Have to agree with you TUT. It is a form of human trafficking and seems to tie into The Auburn way of things. Last year The running backs from Kansas that went to Tenn. This is a problem that probably needs to be ban somehow. You come with an agent, you go with your agent should be the law (no place on our team for you).

And I'd rather not discuss it on the SECr. For every serious comment on the situation there will be 3 posts from Auburn fans claiming everyone one is butthurt because they won the MNC, and 3 more posts from gumps saying Auburn is doomed. ...and then for good measure some Arky fan will start spouting "flagship" nonsense.

NCAA investigation on Auburn now in Thibodeaux
It's being discussed enough on the SEC Rant ... there are like 4 threads... not counting ATPB

Maybe a thread about investigating recruiting violations actually belongs on the recruiting board?

TWO fricking players... Kids from other cities in LA choose to go to other schools all the time.

First of all, it's two 5 STARS in two years!! And it's a college that is being investigated for paying players/dads/handlers to get kids and the Thibodeaux kids are associated with one of those "handlers" who keept the heat off of himself by wearing LSU sweaters!

ANd kids from LA go to other schools usually when NOT offered by the Tigers, NOT when they are prized recruits.

So here's a novel idea, let the NCAA get a hold on this situation now, it's getting bad! What do you want to do, wait till it's 5 kids, or 10?

Reed was a whole different ball of wax than GR. GR did everything but call the fricking NCAA with his new iphone after his visit to Auburn. I know more than a few people in Thibodaux were pissed at the Auburn coaches including GR's own grandma. AU is linked to a handler in the area so it deserves to be at least looked at.

Frankly, I'm interested in hearing if/when something new shows up (such as this). And I'd rather not discuss it on the SECr. Thats why I rarely venture to that board.
A whole lot of stink there.

A good friend of mine is a UTx alum...

He said that if recruits names Aubie or Oregon... Everyone looks to see who is his handler

Not to worry, they live by the Auburn Creed...nothing to see here. Move along. I'm sure it was all perfectly above board.

Update on NCAA-Auburn investigation Louisiana: Source tells me today ex-Thibodaux high school coach Dennis Lorio told NCAA investigators that Trooper Taylor & Curtis Luper both recruited Trovon Reed after Taylor was taken off the road because of Big Cat Weekend recruiting violations. Lorio to NCAA: "This was not just one lone coach."

What do you guys honestly think comes of this.

It starting to stink more and more. So there is something fishy going on. I don't know how big that is for Taylor to do that, but it. Just shows overall lack of respect and flagrant disregard of NCAA rules.

That still doesn't show where money exchanged hands. Also how bad of a violation is giving the iPhone they will just make GR. Pay that back anad it's a done deal.

They allowed Dareus and Green to just pay the stuff back get a small suspension and moved on. Same thing with the buckeyes boys.

it's not that simple, IMO. the iphone deal would mean that the staff provided the recruit with the device, no? not jjust some booster, or agent...it implicates the staff.

Gotcha so if it's boosters then they go lighter but if it shows intent om the staff or representatives of the chool then t he violation is more severe. That makes sense because there is no way a staff can control boosters every move.

I think in AU case they should be punished each way because they have the Newton thing looming. Plus they generated revenue and exposure from there cheating.

All this loop hole crap is a joke. The n.c.a.a. can tell a kid he must have cheated if he has more than a 5 point jump on his a.c.t., therefore, you have to take the test again. if the kid takes it and it's a four point jump from the original but lacks the point to be eligible. he's ineligible.

Yet, a parent can admit to requesting money for his son to play, they can't do anything. they have to have "evidence". however, they don't need evidence of cheating to secure a five point jump.

i find it very interesting in the Cam newton deal, there was a "handler" kenny rogers. Now there is a "handler" for G. rob. sean nelson. nelson sets up a non-profit organization like cam's dad did. common sense, this is a organized deal. this is just the one's we know about.

Trooper's deal is he gives these kids key's to his home. how are they going to trace the money to the player or recruit if trooper says, here's my key, enjoy the cookies in the cookie jar. The kid enters the house, there is money in the cookie jar.

It is not just these kids Dwyer had a handler too, as did a bunch of these Auburn kids. Do you know what luper's dad does? He is like a big bishop in one of these weird front like Churches/Charities that keep popping up with recruits.

The agents pay the recuiters like Kenny Rodgers, Nelson, that then steer the recruits to select schools, were they keep trcak of them until signing day. See UNC. These "recruiting services" have been popping up all over the place now. That is why NCAA and media is so hot on Scam and this, it is a big story because it is rapid.

To me the NCAA should step in and ban all of these handlers because they are really just agents or bag men

Just their ability to make a living as handlers is a red flag IMO... they have to be getting cash from someone and for the most part the recruits and their families are not the ones who would have money to pay them

Damn, LSU is targeting all three.
If this is true, I really don't want to continue to recruit them.
