I hope you're right. I really do. This incoming class is gonna need to make an impact fast. Especially since we are saying the lineman are the area we needed.

I understand your concern about the class

If we could have rounded out this class with a good CB I'd feel a lot better about it myself

I don't get too worked up about the rankings because this class did fill some really important needs

It compliments the 16 and 17 classes very well

And the TT transfers will inject experience and talent that will help also

I do however agree with you that from this point forward we'll need to have a better overall class ranking to get to where we want to be. Next year we have to have a great CB haul which we are primed to do IMO

Yep bc Dabo and Orgeron are the same coach. Hey don't worry, saban lost to UAB that one time. Orgeron may be the next saban too lol

I thought you were crying over a top 15 recruiting class?

Now you are spazzing out over a myriad of shite. Saban's loss to UAB ???

Agreed. It's an ok class to compliment elite classes but we will need better to get back up to the level we all want to see.

I think the think is sticking for a lot of us is two years in a row we lost guys that were considered locks. Surtain and Wilson. Gotta close on guys like that especially when you're considered the leader for years.

Coupled with the fact that this is supposed to be Orgerons calling card and it's just not a good vibe but I really do hope these kids surprise a lot of people.

I think the defensive front 7 and the depth on that unit will be a big plus for us.

I have concerns about the second corner spot as I'm sure most people do. I do trust that with the front 7 talent Aranda will be able to scheme around our possible weak spot in the secondary.

What I don't think you'll see happening is us getting gassed in the second half of games and letting people run all over us.

We already have 2 solid LBs inside with White and Taylor in his second year. We added 2 4 star ILBs with this recruiting class and still have Phillips from last year's haul.

Defensive line depth is going to be better last year just by adding Fehoko and Shelvin up front. And that doesn't count the 3 4 star defensive tackles we added this class. There is certainly reason to be optimistic about the defense. I don't think Orgeron is a great coach but I don't doubt Aranda's ability one bit and it looks like he has the talent to help him bring the defense to the next level. At least up front. Only potential weakness is at CB (which can be a major problem if not addressed early)

Totally disagree with this. Besides Kelvin Joseph, Terrace Marshall, Badara Traore and Cole Tracy (the kicker) the rest will probably come in in relief roles. Unless some of them are good enough to unseat the veterans ahead of them.

As good as the guys are on D-line that are coming in, I don't think they will start ahead of Rashard Lawrence, Breiden Fehoko or Ed Alexander.

Unlike last season, I don't think this year will have 12 freshmen or redshirt freshmen having to start.

The defensive guys are depth guys so they'll need to make an impact there. The 2 guys at defensive end might see some early snaps. Don't expect the nose tackle to need to play much but he will likely be the 3rd one in if he's that good and we want them staying really fresh.

If you don't get the point I don't know what to tell you. You think Orgeron has the program going in the right direction and is recruiting at an elite level. I don't. Guess we will see

Yeah the Saban comparison is getting silly. He may have lost to UAB but has come a long way since then and that was with a lot of dinardo players

Seems like Orgeron is losing a lot more of these kids than he's getting.

It seems you are only focusing on the ones the got away. What about Marshall, Chase, Traore, Key (i realize it was under Miles), etc.

People can try to sugar coat it all they want to, but so far, Coach O's recruiting classes have been anything but "outstanding." Recruiting is supposed to be his big strength. He hasn't shown it to me yet.

LSU recruited needs on the OL (ranked #9 OL class) and on the DL (ranked #3 DL class) and at WR (ranked #2 WR class).

Maybe some of you who bitch and whine don't do anything but look at overall position a class may finish but a class heavy in Linemen will always finish a little lower than one with a ton of skill position players. It has always been that way. LSU NEEDED Linemen and immediate help on both sides of the ball. We got it.

The way in which LSU did not get Goodrich is what really stings.

Sure. But it's not like the class sucked either. You don't need to sugar coat anything because it's a solid class that addressed areas where we severely lacked depth. Areas that cost us games last year.

We got a great class, not because of the “stars” but because we filled the holes we had on the team.

Pretty sure we had some holes to fill at CB too.

That's the only knock on this class in my opinion. (Unless not course neither QB pans out for us which is unknown at this point)

Agreed, which you said perfectly well earlier... a great CB recruit in the class (Surtain or Goodrich) would have gone a long way to making this class look MUCH better.

Not a bad class, but we can’t say we filled all our holes in depth after both KT2 and DJ declared early.

Agreed but we did fill some holes that really needed to be addressed. We might be able to move some people around and have a top notch secondary. Greedy and the safeties are already solid. It's figuring out the nickel and dime packages that will prove difficult. A lot of it rests on Fulton and his situation. I'll feel a lot better once (if) we get confirmation he is eligible.
