I really think most people would be on board with this if we had addressed the cb situation. That's a legitimate gripe. Otherwise a solid class.

I think that if LSU had signed 5 CB's and still finished 15th in the rankings, the idiots would be over here crying just like they are now.

You can tell by the fact that they think having the #15 class in the nation is a horrible thing.

If we signed surtain and Goodrich we likely move up a few spots in the rankings.

Maybe into the top 10

My apologies. I found our exchanges to be civil and I appreciate that.

If we had landed Goodrich or Surtain it definitely would have had a different feel than it did

It still kinda pisses me off that surtain did what he did to LSU and our staff by stringing them along right up until signing day. It really fricked us at the cb position by him handling it the way he did, and it was intentional and deliberate. Saban knew our situation at cb and wanted surtain to screw us by lying to us and having us extremely confident in signing him. I know he's a kid and all that, but his father and saban were in on it as well, and that is what makes me mad about how it all went down. Oh well, we have to have a big dB haul this class, and Louisiana is loaded at the position, so we will make up for it soon.

Definitely. I was pretty sour about it for a few days myself and still think it will sting.

Let's see multiple people say you go to far when you get in discussion. Few people say you take shite to far yet you say no, so guess you are right. No negative talk here , as you stated facts. Still my LSU brotheran , Geaux Tigers!

Goodrich , I am disappointed also but Surtain played us. Starting to think Saba does this shite to us on purpose. Look at situation two years ago name escapes me safety from Neville. We got Adamas so we made out better. Then asshat Moses played us. I call him asshat because he told me to my face a straight out lie. Told me he was all LSU one week before signing . You don't need to like me, but Damm respect me no need to lie . Kids tell people anything they want to hear , they have no balls .Also three days before signing day this year Surtain Sr. told someone that has huge LSU ties that Jr. was playing the game. Then signing day , Bama we catch the bird .

Again, it's the 15th ranked class in the country. That's the "alternate universe" in which I live. The one that uses facts and objectivity to make informed decisions/conclusions about the direction things are trending.

ok fine. but the point is that the RANKINGS are not necessarily accurate. you just can't call people's opinions of 18 year olds future performance FACT. there is just way too many changes in these kids over the next 4 years.

in a year where the state of Louisiana is way down from normal to call this years class trending in a bad direction is harsh and unjust. not signing a CB was, imo, the only real "failure" of the class and you have to admit, at least we went for the best.

We addressed urgent team needs in this class. I don't care whether it's the 15th or a top 5 class. You have to address YOUR teams needs. YOU have to trust your coaching staffs evaluation's of prospects over some websites. Certain highly ranked propets don't fit into our system, period. I trust coach o, Dave aranda, corey raymond, and the rest of our staff that actually coach college ball and have a system they're trying to recruit to, over some dumbfrick giving a player stars when he hasn't played a down of college ball yet in any system.

Sure, we could have used anot her cb in this year's class, but all in all, I like who we got and how they fit into our philosophy. We signed the number 1 wr class in the nation, and had a good haul at the line of scrimmage. We addressed immediate needs. Some of you take class rankings too damn serious. It was a down year in louisiana this year, next year will be different. Geaux tigers.

Sure saban negatively recruits LSU and does shady shite to make us suffer on signing day. He knows LSU and louisiana all too well. He knows he must do something, anything he can, to try and slow us down, especially in state, because the stats don't lie about where pro football talent comes from and it scares him if LSU was to lock this state down then cherry pick top talent out of other states. Saban has coached and recruited at LSU and knows the advantages we have. It shouldn't surprise anyone that he's a slimy motherfricker when it comes to recruiting for bama/against LSU. He's a scumbag, and surtain Jr is just the latest chapter in his bs concerning LSU and recruiting against us. It will come to an end soon, then its our time, no worries here.

Our front 7 will be very deep and talented with this incoming class plus fehoko and shelvin. I'm really excited to see what Aranda can do now that the depth issues have been addressed. It will not be fun trying to run between the tackles against this unit. Taylor and White in the middle with an improved down 3 front has me excited.

That makes it all the more hard to stomach when we lose Marvin Wilson and Pat Surtain after reading all the propaganda for three years saying they were all LSU.

That propaganda is not coming out of LSU... It is coming from the click-baiters that are telling you what you want to hear or read. I had a suspicion that something was up when LSU started going hard after Goodrich in Dec. We had not even heard of him on this board before that and there was allegedly no room and no need with Surtain on the come.

Oh, me too man. Fehoko was our best dl last season, and that's out of the coaching staff and players mouths directly. Our lb Corp should be much better after gaining experience in the system last season. Fehoko, shelvin, lawrence, etc...we have a hell of a front 7. The most talented we have had since 2011 without question. We have talented dbs back there too. Our defense will be good next year. Our offense will be much improved passing the ball as well. It's hard to get any worse really. Etling just didn't have it, no knock against him, but he wasn't going to lead us to a really legitimately good passing attack. He just wasnt. Brennan showed some good things last season while throwing, and showed his inexperience too, but give me a sophomore Brennan over a senior Danny Etling everyday of the week.

Forget Surtain, Hootie and Tony Brown. The best one Saban got LSU with was Matt Womack.

But the Southeastern Conference did not see it that way, as it banned Miles' program from signing early enrollees to Financial Aid Agreements for the next two years and took away 10 percent of its recruiting evaluation days in 2015.

Womack, a one-time LSU commit, signed a financial aid agreement with the Tigers, which allowed them to have unlimited contact with him. But the offensive lineman ultimately signed with Alabama, which makes LSU's contact with Womack a recruiting violation.

One time commit signs financial aid papers with LSU allowing unlimited access, then signs with Bama so the contact is an NCAA violation

I'm pretty sure this all happened during a dead period. BUT, I'm sure Nick and Bama did nothing wrong.

Jesus, where in Hell do you people come from? You actually think a 15th-ranked recruiting class is acceptable, with no cornerbacks and no quarterback signed? You must be about 15 years old, I swear.

Agreed. I at one point was absolutely positive that LSU would at least sign Goodrich. I had read how he really wanted an offer and that Corey Raymond loved him and wanted him in a bad way. I just didn't foresee the "great" recruiter Orgeron telling his staff, "No, no. We only need ONE cornerback, and Surtain is a lock."

Had they at least gotten Goodrich, I would consider this class to be very, very good. Now it's only a good class that could have been great, just like Orgeron's class last year, which ended in disappointment.

No need to worry man. Coach O is loading up and gonna kick bama's arse next year! You convinced me that our classes, player development, etc are equal to Clemsons so I'm now expecting similar results as they've been having. That seems fair since our classes and theirs are basically the same as you pointed out. So 8-9 wins will again be a tremendous disappointment, agreed? Or will we be blaming someone else again next offseason?

Since I'm just making shite up and all your hype is factual, we should expect no worse than 2nd in the west next year. Probably really we ought to win the west since we get bama at home and our lines are gonna be on par with theirs now

When the O supporters have constantly told us about what a "great" recruiter that Orgeron is, having a class that comes in at #15 is a huge disappointment. And top it off with the fact that through gross incompetence, he doesn't offer Goodrich until it's way too late, thus ending up with NO cornerbacks, which was a big need this year.

Yes:

2013: 15 Clemson
2014: 16 Clemson
2015: 9 Clemson
2016: 11 Clemson
2017: 16 Clemson

with no cornerbacks

Would have helped to sign more than Kelvin Joseph. LSU was hurt by Surtain's actions. Finding out at 11:00 pm the night before signing day that he wasn't coming.

no quarterback signed

Really not that big of a deal. They have a sophomore 4-star, a freshman 4-star and a junior QB.
