It would have been great to have him. One silver lining though is we still don't know if there will even be a basketball season. So it is possible LSU could have signed him and he never actually played a minute for LSU before jumping to the draft.
That said, though it probably wasn't the only reason he seemed to completely reverse course and not sign with LSU, Wade and LSU should (largely behind the scenes) go completely scored earth on Vitale. I've never seen a member of the sports media so blatantly and purposely interject himself in recruiting with the SOLE goal of preventing a kid of signing with a certain school. I'd tell ESPN that I'd rather play on closed circuit television than on a broadcast by Vitale and to NEVER bring his sorry arse on the campus ever again. Hell, this is one of the very few times I would agree with cancel culture. Not because Vitale has a bad opinion of LSU and/or Wade (he's entitled to that). But because HE made himself a part of the recruiting battle. Not simply just an outside observer/commentator. We simply can't condone media members spreading blatant falsehoods with the SOLE purpose to directly favor one school over another in a recruiting battle.
I'll say this. If Wade can sign the kid from OSU (who is a proven shot-blocker in a big time conference), then missing on Cisse may ultimately be a wash. It would be a little poetic justice for LSU/Wade to potentially come out BETTER despite the frickery of Vitale and, almost assuredly, rival coaches who flat out don't like Wade.

I'm going to laugh my arse off when Memphis gets SMU-type sanctions and Dick breaks his twitter finger.

like to see that strong arse offer

I'm sure that's the negative recruiting pitch: "Don't go to LSU. They're about to get slapped with sanctions."

It was always going to be difficult to pull this guy away from Memphis.
It’s been a sketchy school ever since Calipari was there.

Covid didn’t help. I don’t think the kid ever got to come to BR

Memphis State has always been corrupt even going back to their good teams in the 70-80's w/ Dana Kirk.
LSU upset their really good team w/ Keith Lee on it on our run to the Final Four in 1986.

I haven’t been able to follow sports in general over the last few weeks so I missed this whole dickie v/cisse thing. What’s the story here? I know he’s generally been a prick to LSU and Wade over the last couple years, but I missed any recent stuff that’s gone down. Can anyone catch me up? Thanks!

Just before Cisse was to commit to LSU blew Wade up saying sanctions coming. Of course nothing happened

God I hope dickie V gets roasted next time he’s in the P MAC. It’s that time. I just worry the students at LSU don’t follow this enough to get riled up.
