You honestly think its how the process works? you can usually pick up a kid in this situation if he fits a need. if numbers get crunched he will probably be the odd man out.

Which has nothing to do with anything I said. All I said was everyone is complaining about a recruit we got. He may fit, he may greyshirt, he may not. No need to dog a kid who no one has seen play.

he would have an offer from UT if he were a "texas man," but he burned that bridge. that's mack's loss

Pure speculation.

It could be right, but point his he doesn't have an offer and the only offer anyone knows for sure he has is from A&M

So assuming Loston and Allen are commits we only have 3 schollies left to give out with...

Rueben Randle
Barkevious Mingo
Jon Bostic
Jarvis Jones
Christine Michael
Andre Debose
Devonte Holloman
William Campbell
JaMarkus McFarland
Jason Pierre-Paul
Xavier Sua-Filo (wouldn't affect this class I suppose)

etc...

Still on our board?

Pure speculation.

No, he said he took Texas off the list when the top Texas RB committed, then later realized he would've liked competition, but they had calmed down their recruiting on him.

not sure about offers, but know he is being recruited by OU and Texas as well. OUtside of that, if you watch film of Michael he is a stud, no longshot. The odds are pretty fair Michael will be a star at the next level. Anyone could watch his film and see something special. Its not a stretch. When you are limited in the offers you can give, Claiborne is a stretch. No one is saying he will not be successful, but the odds are much greater with him than some others. Could happen.

Where are you getting 3 from? Sonny has been saying eventually signing 25. That would leave 5 more after you count Benton and RD

You were the only one who didn't see the difference between a 5th year senior and a redshirt freshman.

But, I love the "I was right but things have changed" answer. It's classic SFP.

Horrible comparison for this board, but Bama had this problem last year and everything worked out fine.

Exactly, so I don't understand giving this kid an offer...could we assume that maybe we arent most of this list priority anymore? I'm all about the Tiger's recruiting but I dont understand this?

Bingo.

But its not like they have cooled on LSU due to the losses. They probably had LSU as the 3rd school on the outside looking in, but still with a good chance.

think its more questioning why, than questioning the kid. If LSU were in good standing with as many man-child players for '09 this offer wouldn't have occurred. I don't think LSU is number one on as many lists as people think. The choice was a canary in the mine thing. More of a warning of what may be happening. Claiborne may be a fine HS player, but Miles honestly must feel the end of the recruiting stretch isn't going to match the top end.

If Claiborne is a legit 6-1 and runs a solid 4.5 he may grow into a fine player. Just find the whole thing very curious, not in a good way.

This guy is a grey shirt candidate so he might not be taking any numbers from this class. Also, he has offers from nebraska a&m and interest from Georgia. With that offer sheet, he has about what CM does, or more. Just going to go at this from your aspect. Also, get a scout subscription and you wouldn't find yourself as clueless all the time. Sonny has been saying that this is a real possibility all along
